Since learning Karla Homolka has been volunteering at an elementary school in Montreal, I've found myself shellshocked by the number of people willing to defend her technical, legal right to privacy. That's downright Canadian of you, but could we stop letting pretty white women in North America literally and figuratively get away with murder?
If the takeaway from this latest rash of binge watching afflicting North America is that our jails are full of wrongfully convicted people, that would be a massive waste of our collective will. The hurt the law exerts upon its victims is delivered long before someone is imprisoned for a crime they did not commit. The law is far more insidious.
