I think we should all put on an oxygen mask when we see the smoke of politicos' personal lives being pushed in our faces. Their work should be the measured based on their achievements as our representatives. All's fair in love, war, and politics? Each seems to contain an element of the other in one way, and each needs rules of its own. Let's see who can play the election game fairly and not manipulate voters into believing a flaw in someone's personal life equates to them being ill suited to honourably serving the public with devotion and distinction.

We should really ban reality shows from television. For starters, they aren't that real, are they? The creators are extremely good at editing so that we see whatever they want us to see -- whatever wi...

Why, pray tell, are many of the cottages we visit so much less like wilderness cabins (visually and ergonomically) and more like suburban bungalows? Consider our own formerly nervous wreck. Step indoors, and it might very well have occupied a street in any suburban sprawl.
We're not gonna lie: our guest room, as we found it, was more like a petting zoo -- for unwanted critters -- than a potentially indulgent space for our friends to relax. Consider, if you will, this bathroom: a veritable den of designer no no's. An ergonomic, stylistic and visual wash out, with little in its favour, it desperately needed to change. Petite? To the power of ten. Carpet? The devil's own harbinger of human excretions, toe nails and mouse poop. Are we painting a picture?

A really good deck doesn't stop at the luxuriant lumber from which it is constructed. To bring any deck (patio or terrace) alive it needs subsequent "layers." In precisely the same manner in which décor and accessories will alternate interior "beat," so too can visual and physical tricks make your exterior scheme look "considered."

This television season has seen a few examples where the critics and audiences both agreed on a show. One example is the very funny Schitt's Creek, which airs its finale this Tuesday March 31st at 9pm EST on CBC. Canada is known for its comedic talent, but a half-hour comedy that was home grown and sustained an audience...well, there have only been a few.
