Just about now you've hit your summer groove: maybe it includes less demanding work days, more relaxing social outings and longer nights spent nurturing your soul with "me" activities. Stress levels tend to drop in the summer months, and overall we have a sunnier outlook (pardon the pun).
Like most 21st-century humans, I am burning the candle at both ends. When I feel the world spinning too quickly and have a moment's respite, I don't look up, I look online. I scroll through Facebook because, well, that's what I do. This indifference to an obviously compulsive behaviour lets a day slip quickly by.
At the halfway mark of the year, it's a great time to regroup, reconnect, and recharge. This year has been moving at lightning speed and the pace, along with the ubiquitous change, has made for a challenging year so far. I've welcomed the slower pace of summertime this year and I've been reminded yet again that our current ways aren't working.
