Layers and cardigans, are a few of my favourites this fall! There are so many options for every shape and colour preference this season. As I wrote before, all women are beautiful. And to provide the top tips to feel and look amazing this fall, I spoke with Amanda Kraemer, style director at LOFT.

Amanda shared her top tips for feeling fabulous and looking amazing this season!

What are the top colour trends for fall?

The colour trends for fall are actually the colours of fall, believe it or not. Sounds too easy, too obvious, right?! But just step into any store and see for yourself the overflow of goldenrod, sienna, brick and berry found everywhere ranging from textured pencil skirts, super soft funnel neck sweaters, cozy scarves, coatigans and feminine frocks.

What are the key pieces for fall?

The 70s, retro-revival influence continues to make a statement this fall as my favourite must-have pieces also unlock at my inner boho.

Sayonara skinnies. The flare leg is the denim shape to own this season. Thanks to multiple washes, this style's also got you covered for all situations. Cardigans are actually cool!

Thanks to multiple designs -- sheer, chunky, cropped and coatigan -- and endless ways to wear them including layered under a blazer, over a dress, or even over another sweater means this item's definitely not just for the office.

Sweater Dress(ing). Think of it as your favourite sweatshirt, elongated. Thanks to super soft fabrics, easy silhouettes and abstract prints, dresses may just become the one and done of your dreams.

If you are a curvy girl which of the key pieces do you think are a good choice?

Curvy checklist: Nothing flatters your frame and looks more on trend than an elongated pencil skirt (with hidden stretch!). A fit-and-flare dress = success. Accentuate your waist with a belted poncho. Sateen pant = simply slimming.

Each piece is statement-making enough on its own, but add your personal touch and you'll easily be able to take it from work into weekend.

If you have a slim frame which of the key fall pieces are a good choice?

Luckily for you, layering is huge for fall and also a great way to give the illusion of curves. Layer tops (and more tops!) with accessories, chunky scarves and jackets. Pick fabrics with some structure to create form and textured A-line skirts will definitely add dimension.

What are the key accessories for fall?

Invest in an ankle bootie to wear with everything, a slouch boot in berry for floral skirts and dresses, a tassel necklace to wear with wovens, a jewel-tone ring for bling, soft scarves and a wide brimmed hat in sienna, for starters.

Top Shoes Trends

Recently, I spoke with Diego Greco, product line developer at Hush Puppies and Diego shared with me some of the top shoe trends for fall 2015.

What are the hot trends for shoes this fall?

Ankle booties will once again dominate the early parts of the fall season. If you're looking to make a statement opt for suede. Leather ankle boots will also be big. Look for lots of hardware for a grungier look.

Might be seeing a sprinkle of western inspired looks as well.

Combat boots and boots with a lug sole will again be very popular for fall. Lastly with the 70s trend very much in effect, tall boots, especially over the knee, will be the wow boot of the season. When shopping for tall boots, details to look for will be fringe, suede, patchwork, and look for them to be fitted.

Colours/Materials:

Black. Goes without saying black will be the number one colour of the season. Hot colours to look for this fall will be deep red, or burgundy. Camel will also be prevalent especially used in suede. Cognac as well.

With patchwork being a big trend for the season, colour blocking and material play will also be popular. Lots of suede. You'll see it on heels and of course on boots.

Patchwork. Patchwork primarily used on boots will make a renaissance this season.

How to wear:

For a true wow factor, try wearing a long floor duster coat with a pair of fitted over the knee boots.

Or how about a pair of suede ankle boots with fringe detail to go along with your shearling jacket ready for the cold weather ahead. Why not rock your hardware bursting black booties with your favorite moto jacket?

How to find the perfect fit and care for your boots:

The best way to fit your shoes, is to try them on while you are in the store and take some time to walk in them. Unfortunately with product coming from so many different locations and different factories, it is very hard to expect a standard fit.

When caring for your boots this fall, remember the following:

Keep your shoes clean. Keeping your shoes clean will go a long way.

As the weather changes, remember to spray new boots with a waterproofing agent that increases their water resistance. Protecting your shoes with a waterproofing agent and keeping your leather shoes well-polished is highly recommended.

Always clean off any salt stain as soon as you spot it. Use a recommended cleaning agent. Fresh salt stains can be wiped clean using a damp warm cloth.

Lastly, remember to never store boots without cleaning them first.

I will be thinking about all of these style tips as I continue to expand my fall wardrobe. Your suggestions are always welcome, as I continue on my journey to live life to the fullest. Let's have the very best 2015!
