Shirley Lum
Shirley Lum, a first generation Canadian-Chinese, was born and raised in Toronto. As a culinary historian, Shirley is an unabashed foodie, forging through Toronto neighbourhoods on foot and on her bicycle in the quest for mouthwatering noshing in quirky outposts. Her many clients, school groups and private businesses have benefited immensely from her meticulous research and the history that Shirley combines with food. Shirley's inspiration and passion for going off the beaten path dates back to a fifth grade program, a passion that was re-kindled when she took a sabbatical in 1988 and went on a two and a half month bike trip through Europe.

Since establishing A Taste of the World in 1993, Shirley has been unearthing nooks and crannies skipped by most guides. This combined with history, Shirley has introduced many people to the diverse cultures and food in various Toronto neighbourhoods.
