““These remarks illustrate how callous and out-of-touch Ralph and the Georgia Republican Party have become," chairman DuBose Porter said in the statement. "It is awful to think you could tell a woman who was just diagnosed with breast cancer that it’s her fault.”
This quote is really not that surprising when you consider another GOP Rep from Georgia's comments, as quoted from The Stir:
State Rep. Terry England was speaking in favor of HB 954, which makes it illegal to obtain an abortion after 20 weeks even if the woman is known to be carrying a stillborn fetus or the baby is otherwise not expected to live to term. He then recalled his time working on a farm, explaining, “Life gives us many experiences ... I’ve had the experience of delivering calves, dead and alive. Delivering pigs, dead or alive. It breaks our hearts to see those animals not make it.””
“But Republican voters do not seem to be worried about the lack of women in Congress, for the most part, and they are not particularly concerned about women in the workplace.... after all, who is going to make their sandwiches?”
“Sebelius was unable to attend last week's hearing because she was traveling in Phoenix at the time, although several of the top contractors for the Healthcare.gov website did appear....."At the time the briefing was scheduled, Secretary Sebelius was refusing to testify openly at a Congressional committee," Steel told The Huffington Post in an email.
Thanks Michael, but I prefer waffles to flim flam....”
“"Back in 1995, we tried this experiment before. The American people reacted in a totally negative fashion, so we didn't do it again until we lost all corporate memory, except for a few of us old geezers," McCain said.
None of the spending bills passed by the House include a raise for federal workers. It did, however, approve a 1.8 percent pay raise for military personnel in 2014, an amount higher than the 1 percent the Obama administration and the Pentagon are proposing.... For its part, the Obama administration continues to push for some sort of increase for federal workers.
The House has passed four spending bills so far: Defense; Energy and Water Development; Homeland Security; and Military Construction-Veterans Affairs. The bills don't address a pay raise for civilian workers, other than to say funding for a pay raise is not included.
Looks like Republicans aren't much interested in pay increases of any percentage for Federal workers...shocking!”
“It this generosity included in the 24 billion dollars in lost output the Republicans cost the economy while saying Obamacare was too expensive for taxpayers?”

“RTPs fear the success of the ACA above all else. They tried this stunt but, stay tuned - sometime before full implementation they'll probably be attempting to declare war on some unsuspecting nation somewhere. (But, no worry, it most certainly will not be the Cayman Islands!)”

“Yes, remind them it adds to the deficit.”

“Yes and they try to sell themselves as Fiscally responsible. What a joke. Throw the last 2 weeks in with the cost of running the house of reps so they could vote to defund Obamacare 42 times and you find the biggest money wasters in the country.”
