““Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” -- Isaac Asimov”

“Ignorance by at least two names are McCarthy, jenny and Wakefield, andrew. I put in first names so as not to insult others with the same last names lol”

“Let's wager on the canned response from Ford:
1. Anything else?
2. I wasn't elected to be perfect.
3. How many millions has Blair wasted investigating me?
4. How many of you haven't done something wrong?
5. I've saved taxpayers a billion dollars.
6. Subways subways subways!
7. I'm working hard for the taxpayers of Toronto.
8. All of the above.”

“I have lost both parents and know that while the physical bond is broken, your mother's love, wisdom and courage will live on: in you, in your Father, throughout the lives of those she touched. Take your time, speak of her often with loved ones and friends - time makes the good memories sharp and helps the sad ones to eventually fade. My condolences for you and your family - from what you have written she was an amazing woman.”

“Not ready to lead, huh? He's just demonstrated more meaningful leadership than Harper has over the last decade.”
MonkEBizness on Jan 29, 2014 at 21:27:53
He only did it because of what the senate audit is going to reveal about the activities of both Liberal & Conservative senators.”

“Harper throws people under the bus one, two and sometimes three at a time - Turdeau throws a whole houseful under da bus - and you praise him DOH !!!!!!!”

“Interesting that Trudeau voted against the NDP motion in Oct to “end Sens partisan activities & remove Sens from party caucuses." And now this today. Does make me think that he may simply be worried about the upcoming AG report on Senate expenses. Once again, LIberals trying to STEAL, NDP ideas!”
Natural Born Skeptic on Jan 29, 2014 at 14:32:34
“It may not have been his decision, alone. I would not be surprised if this was a decision made by the power brokers and advisers within the party. As so many Trudeau supporters have said - he is a team player so it is quite possible that this was a party decision and not solely Trudeau's decision. I like the decision but I wouldn't go so far as to use this move as proof that Trudeau could lead the country.”
Natural Born Skeptic on Jan 29, 2014 at 14:26:28
“And, oddly enough, when PM Harper did remove offending Senators, he was accused of throwing them under the bus. When Trudeau does it, it's leadership. Not that I disagree with this move but it's odd that there's such a double standard being applied.”
Bytor on Jan 29, 2014 at 13:30:51
“I'm not sure if firing senators qualifies one to lead a country, but I applaud the move.”

“You think Liberal senators will think differently today, they will wake up and feel different. No, this an easy way to say you are not partisan. They will vote the same”

“Harper and leadership do not even know each other. Fear mongering, belligerence, intimidation, secrecy, yes. Leadership? Not a chance.”
