“What is hypocritical about Gohmert is he mentions honoring: God, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

What other religions believe in God, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob besides Christianity? The Jewish religion and Islam.

The Muslim religion believes in one God (Allah) and Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are prophets from the Qu'ran. They are all mentioned in the Jewish Torah.

Instead of saying worship any religion such as Islam, Jewish, or Christianity he focuses only on Christianity.

What Gohmert said was false anyway. Christianity became the State religion of the Roman Empire in 380 AD. The Western Empire fell in 476 AD and the Eastern Empire fell in 29 May 1453.”

“Here is one relationship that stands out to me. It involves frac sand mining, Republican legislators in Wisconsin who are ALEC members, and transporting that sand via railway.

First, Canadian National railway has been privatized since 1995 and is currently owned by private investors. Second the company is huge across North America and owns American subsidiaries that have been merged into the parent company. In the USA they have railways through the US Midwest from Canada all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. One of those subsidiaries is Wisconsin Central Ltd. (WC).

Frac sand mining has taken off in Wisconsin. Frac sand is used in the natural gas and oil business in the fracking process. Republican legislator and ALEC member Frank Lasee introduced SB 504. It makes it harder for local municipalities to issue moratoriums to delay frac sand mining to find out potential dangers to citizens.

Here are two articles were Canadian National Railways has a strategy in place to upgrade their Whitehall Subdivision railways in Wisconsin for the purpose of transporting frac sand:

“I'm on the fence on this. You aren't exactly correct, however their are definitely types that wish to force their theology on the country. An example is that I am an agnostic, however I certainly oppose abortion, because I do believe that until Science can definitively say the month, week, day, hour a fetus becomes a "human being" then we should attacha priority to saving that child's life. I just prefer to not murder a child, until that fact is known. i have no doubt i have already raised the ire of many of you. Anyways, my opposition to abortion has absolutely nothing to do with any Christian tenet, and there are more like me than your Black and White, propagandized vision of this country will allow. Birth control I have no issue with, as long as you pay for it yourself, frankly. And anyone should be able to get married if they love each other. steblawar on Dec 5, 2013 at 08:13:02

“Christians never took Halloween over ... they tried, it's called "All Saints Day", but there is nothing about the way most of us (including Christians) enjoy Halloween the holiday that has a Christian theme ... unless you dress up as an Angel or something. Yes though, the origin of Christmas is associated with Winter solstice celebrations ... and was made a holiday by Constantine to coincide specifically with the Mithran "Feast of the Unconquered Sun" because much of the Roman army (embarrassingly for Rome) at the time, was Mithran -- why the Pilgrims, for instance, refused to celebrate it ... or Easter for that matter, which is drawn from and almost identical to the "Sleep of Ishtar", which celebrated the Spring equinox. The first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring equinox is kind of a hint it wasn't something occuring on a precise day in history. Still, the "concepts" behind these holidays translated. You are right about the cake, but they should have to provide a decoration they don't chose to carry (the "toy" on top).”

“Is Scott Brown serious?

The ACA is not socialized, it is private enterprise. It is a way for everyone to be covered but it doesn't mean everyone's plan will be the same.

If a person already has medical care coverage, for example, through an employer they do not have to sign up on an exchange. For example, Ted Cruz is covered by his wife's employer Goldman Sachs. The value of that coverage is at least $20,000/year. That means Ted Cruz and his wife do not have to sign up on the ACA website. Likewise, an employee at Walmart or McDonald's who signs up on the exchange will not get the same coverage that Ted Cruz gets.

If you are on an exchange and your financial position changes for the better, by all means, upgrade your medical provider. Jay-Z and Beyonce rented out an entire floor of a maternity ward when they had their baby. They paid $1.3 million. Kim Kardashian paid $4,000 per day at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Someone using an exchange will not get those options but at least they will have healthcare.”

Research the Doe Run Company, they are a subsidiary of the Renco Group. They run the smelter in Herculaneum, Mo. They have been in trouble since 1989 for pollution violations. About 50% of children that live within 1/4 mile of the smelter in Herculaneum have lead poisoning.

In 1997 they purchased a smelter in La Oroya, Peru with the agreement that they would reduce pollutants. The purchase amount was over $250 million. Doe Run Peru never implemented the Environmental plan and pollution increased. In 2009 the La Oroya, Peru plant was closed. Here are some of the horrible statistics that came out of it. The Blacksmith Institute has listed La Oroya as the 5th most polluted city in the world since 2007. In 2011 the Blacksmith Institute listed La Oroya as the 2nd most air polluted city in the world. The only city worse than them was Chernobyl in Russia. Over 90% of the children in La Oroya suffer high levels of lead.

Do you think the Doe Run was closed in Peru while George Bush was President (2009) because of the price of bullets in the USA? Or do you thing Doe Run was just a polluter that did not fulfill their agreement with the Peruvian Gov't?”

“I would encourage anyone to start their own business. However, MLM has it's drawbacks. The internet is filled with articles and stories.

The obvious one you will see is when someone calls a MLM business an illegal pyramid scheme. A MLM business could be an illegal pyramid scheme if the business makes most, if not all, of it's money by signing up new independent consultants into the downline. The downline is then obligated to buy all their materials from the parent organization and most of them will lose money. A MLM business is a legal business when they actually sell a product such as the jewerly.

Many of the MLM businesses are cookie cutter direct sales companies. Sometimes the product doesn't even matter. MLM businesses include: ionized water, vitamins, weight loss DVD's, skin care, superjuices, etc.”

"Selling outside of Origami Owl’s intended channel of distribution i.e. Home Party, individual sales and ID’s personal Origami Owl website is strictly prohibited.

Origami Owl ID’s are expressly prohibited from selling via auctions, auction houses or discounted online retailers, including but not limited to(eBay, Amazon, Yahoo! “When I see a MLM business I often like to see if I would be able to create the same product myself and how much would it cost.

Here is a great article written by an Australian woman who made her own Living Locket jewelry at 1/2 the cost of Origami Owl:
http://aussiemummysince07.blogspot.com/2013/05/living-lockets-not-origami-owl.html

Under purchase information towards the bottom it lists how she sourced the parts. It appears she sourced components from retailers/distributors.

I went a step further to see how could I source components directly from a manufacturer in China. Here is an example, the Yani Jewerly Factory located in Zhejiang,China (Mainland):
http://yani.en.alibaba.com/company_profile.html

You can buy directly from them through Alibaba or try this site aliexpress:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-can-mix-color-high-quality-ORIGAMI-OWL-locket-living-locket-floating-charm-locket/1403141647.html

They sometimes require the buyer to purchase a minimum order but as you can see a locket would cost $1.50 to $3.00 versus $20.00 to $40.00 that Origami Owl would charge.

Origami Owl requires their "designers" to sell only at house parties. If a person sources their own components and builds their own business they can distribute anyway they want to and charge their own markups. Sell via Ebay, amazon.com, flea market, or kiosk at the mall.”

Here is a good article that comes complete with satellite image of the old location and the new location:
http://blogs.state.gov/stories/2013/11/27/just-facts-future-us-embassy-holy-see

First, what is Vatican City? It is a City-State (the smallest in the world). Monaco and Singapore are also City-States. Singapore (an Island) has it's own US Embassy. Monaco does not have a US Embassy, it uses the one at Marseilles 141 miles away.

The US Embassy to the Holy See is like Monaco, the building is not located in Vatican City it is located outside the City-Sate in Rome (1.88 miles outside of Vatican-City to be precise). The US Embassy in Rome is located 1.78 miles outside of Vatican City. That is where the US Embassy to the Holy See is being relocated, which is actually closer to Vatican City than the old building was. Not only is the new building more "grand" but it more secure and can be defended better. Securing US employees and diplomats is a direct consequence of Benghazi, which the conservatives never stop talking about.”

“I can reason very well. You are all over the place with your response and completely off on a tangent. The article we are commenting on is about the NSSF whose HQ is located in the same town where the Sandy Hook shooting took place. An AR-15 rifle was the weapon used at the crime scene. My initial comment was on how the NSSF originated the "modern sporting" moniker for tactical weapons like the AR-15. So we are talking about rifles here and the rifle rounds they fire.

Your comparison on firearms to the AR-15 was never limited to just semi-automatic fed weapons. In one of your earliest posts you stated the AR-15 is no different than the shotgun used at the Navy Yard. The shotgun used at the Navy Yard was not a semi-automatic, it was a manually pump feed shotgun.

The conversation was never about random gun violence like iPhone thefts. It started off on the NSSF's use of the term "modern sporting rifle". Then you brought up mass shootings at Virginia Tech and the Navy Yard, so I brought up mass shootings at Norway, Tucson Az, and Ft. Hood Tx.

Your last four lines is the reason why I asked you if you think a plastic single shot .38 is the same as an AR-15 with 30 rounds 5.56. You are claiming a pistol round and a rifle round are the same and you are claiming ammo capacity doesn't matter. I disagree.”
