“People seriously need to lighten up. It is ok to bash men on every tv show, movies, anywhere and everywhere, even advertising, but damn, you better not make even the smallest comment about women that may resemble something offensive.”
jessipalooza on Dec 2, 2013 at 10:46:45
“It probably has something to do with the fact that men haven't had their rights oppressed like women have in the past. They also don't deal with the same offensive stereotypes. The male gender is equated with weakness and the feminine traits of a person are looked down on.
Maybe if these were all reversed, then people wouldn't be okay with bashing men.”

“Cancon rules are an insult to Canadians. We know who we are, and we are proud of it. we don't need this paranoid idea that we will become American's if we watch their TV, since we do watch their TV because most of our Cancon sucks.
I don't know one Canadian that wants to be American.”
teeleecee on Nov 30, 2013 at 13:22:38
“Whether they want it or not, it's coming. It would be a massive surprise if Canada even exists in 5 years.”
Murman on Nov 29, 2013 at 19:49:03
“Agreed, but why is it our cancon sucks? Trying to be like Them, I suppose. We should be more original, I think. SCTV was original and it was great, no?”
“not case closed, he would not be dead if they had a taser. get them the tools and people don't need to die.”
tuga2 on Nov 28, 2013 at 23:01:36
“With the tools available they did the best they could. I agree lets give them tasers.”
SilentJustice on Nov 28, 2013 at 15:56:57
“Tasers require being in touch range, which would allow them to be stabbed. Unfortunately, it just wouldn't be a viable option in this particular case.”
Len Carter on Nov 28, 2013 at 15:43:57
“Your right Cael, he was well within safe range for the taser. The problem is you have to call up and get another officer to come over with one. There wasn't enough time. Just this month the Toronto Police Service Board denied the Chief's request for more tasers. It is the fault of the bureaucrats not the front line officers who are in danger.”
“no its not. Typical rate is that over time but right out of the box. Sony has been covering up since these reports came out and tried to say it was your tv. They issued the 0.4% figure before the console was even release and almost all the consoles were still sitting in warehouses.
so if that many are breaking right out of the box, what is it going to look like 3-4 months from now?”
“so you are mad that MS is trying to protect your data and going to the company that lost millions of peoples personal information because of their incompetence? Ok now that is one of the dumbest things i have heard.”

“doesn't matter. Its one thing whether he should be there, but it is another to boo. It was disgusting, as was him being there, but the people booing should have held their tongue out of respect for the people that died.
anyone that thinks otherwise should leave Canada and find some island somewhere.”
Overt Enigma on Nov 12, 2013 at 15:06:40
“I'm not disagreeing with you, but I do understand that some people would want to use every opportunity they can to express their frustration with the Mayor and his decisions. Socially appropriate or not.”

“I make 80k a year with no debt and I cant afford a house in the city. That is just wrong.”
piceaglauca on Nov 12, 2013 at 09:21:38
“Really. I would think that would be any big city in Canada right now.”
SamEasy on Nov 11, 2013 at 18:10:08
“Vancouver or Toronto?”

“Move to a smaller city, in Halifax people can own a home in the city and has something called a front and back yard”

“We are in the same boat. It's either continue renting our fairly spacious but simple townhouse, or cram all of our things in a tiny condo, where we are subject to maintenance fees going up at a whim.”
WaspXIII on Nov 11, 2013 at 16:09:11
“What city? I know that there are other places you'd be able to own no problem, but I understand uprooting and moving everything isn't everyone's option.”

“I hear you there Cael, im in sales and fluctuate between 90 - 110 per year...I gave up a long time ago, and went the investment route rather than house...worked well for me, and with rent so cheap, hard to argue.”

“Not when it is at a remembrance day ceremony. the people that booed should be ashamed of themselves.”
Overt Enigma on Nov 11, 2013 at 13:59:45
“Respectfully, I disagree.
Having a liar and substance abuser as a chief magistrate is a greater insult to the Vets, who fought and died to protect Canada and all that we hold dear. Think about it for a moment - is this really the way to honour our veterans?”
bumbaclaude on Nov 11, 2013 at 13:32:49
“The "person" being booed is our role model!
Pass the pipe bud!”
RainRider on Nov 11, 2013 at 13:21:49
“A very ignorant group. It was offensive to everyone. Remembrance Day ceremonies are not POLITICAL events.”

“its obvious he has an addiction and he needs help. Now the media is just being cruel. Would they do this to anyone else.
enough is enough.”
arcticredriver on Nov 7, 2013 at 20:07:41
“When would /"enough be enough"?/
Mr Ford is still deep in denial.
So long as he is not ready to meaningfully accept the damage he is inflicting on the city, and resign, the media's efforts are not yet sufficient, and their responsibility is to take every opportunity to spell out his failures.”
MJWood on Nov 7, 2013 at 16:01:17
“he has had ever opportunity to take a leave of absence and get help he tried to destroy other peoples reputations and many left because they would no longer support his lies and addiction. He insists he is not addicted, when most of us knew for a long time that he is. He has no feelings about others only himself. If reaching rock bottom is the only way that he will get help then the media is doing him a big favor. His supporters are not, they are killing him with their denial!”
elizlucinda on Nov 7, 2013 at 13:44:13
“Why are they being cruel? He won't take a leave of absence and he's definitely got a problem. It's time for him to get help”
Brian in Toronto on Nov 7, 2013 at 13:28:18
“Rob Ford loves the attention - otherwise he'd resign. He seems to think that hanging around and smoking crack with his criminal acquaintances is excusable because he was in a drunken stupor. Take a bow Ford Nation - your hero is a global laughing stock.”
newplasticmachine on Nov 7, 2013 at 13:21:04
“You're absolutely right.”
TylerSJI on Nov 7, 2013 at 13:20:50
“It isn't enough.
This guy has forced his chief of staff to resign; his closely aligned brother trying to get the police chief resigned.
He lied about his DUI and about smoking crack.
As long as Ford will throw people under the bus, he should get no sympathy; no quarter given, no quarter taken for this crook.”
cmrn on Nov 7, 2013 at 13:16:50
“The man won't leave his post as the mayor of Canada's largest city. The media has to keep the attention on him until he leaves. If not they enable him to continue. And yes, the media would absolutely do this to any other high profile politician caught in the same kind of scandal. Without a shadow of a doubt.”
“I would like this. At least start with independent movies. You can never see them in a theater since half the time they get released to one screen in the country. Something like Netflix or on demand is where they should make their debut.
There are many movies I have seen trailers for and wanted to see but they never came to theaters then by the time they came out on dvd I forgot about them, or they just never came to dvd or on demand.”
NHBill on Oct 28, 2013 at 14:31:57
“"At least start with independent movies."
That's already happening on Amazon/iTunes.
Recently Bling Ring, Escape from Tomorrow, Lovelace, Adore and more were available for download at the same time as their theatrical run.
While most rentals become available on Tuesdays these day and date releases are usually on Fridays.
The also cost a bit more than a regular movie rental.”
