“People are beginning to suggest that there be some sort of screening for mental health issues prior to purchasing weapons. Again, senseless boundaries that would not make a difference. The mother was the gun collector. The son with the diagnosis. The owner was screened. When is everyone going to "get it"? Stop the sale of guns. You dont know who is going to have access or get their hands on them. Also, you can be perfectly competent on the day of your interview and for years after. Then something happens in your life, either biological or environmental, and bam! You have a psychotic break or a triggering event that sets you off. I just dont get it.”

“Third party with key is the answer.
Assault weapons need to be kept in a safe, away from the home, at shooting ranges, and checked out only by owners. A gun that doesn't come back within the allowable time needs to be reported to law enforcement officials. Appointment necessary, similar to bank safe rules. This likely would have prevented the Sandy Nook massacre.
It's the automatic weapons that are the problem, and it's not because of the gun owners themselves. We need to restrict the access to automatic weapons by people who don't own them. Rightful owners are rarely the problem.”

There are about 19,000 suicides with guns per year. The homes with guns obviously have more of them.
Everybody loses it now and then...having a gun nearby is just asking for destruction to occur”

“Ban all firearms.
Drastic measure solves serious problems. Let's face it, America doesn't really want to fix its problems. Be prepared to see more deaths.”
“Well, God is our creator, He is omnipotent and omniscient and nothing happens without his approval, so for those who buy into the whole God thing I'd say it's quite relevant. After all, His houses of worship are brimming over in Newtown right now.”

“Yes I am aware that it is suppose to remain a dirty little secret, but do you know what else they dont want you to know? There are shelter workers who actually counsel women to claim their ex raped them to get custody of the children and I know this because my client was one of the women counselled to do it. BTW, I am a woman.”

“It has been very difficult to create accurate stats for abuse of men because they are embarrassed or do not want the mother of their children arrested for assaulting their father. Men are also much less likely to make false claims of assault.”

“Um, what about mothers that abuse? It's not just Fathers. And "abuse" is characterized as everything from a verbal assault to rape.
I'm more than positive that instances of actual physical assault are down but because they've really opened up the definitions and inflated their statistics, it sounds worse than it is. I really wish we could just have a real dialog about abusive behavior, in general, and not make it a feminist thing.
Every man I've ever know has been physically assaulted either as a kid, dealing with bullies or an adult dealing with bullies, at some point, in their life, they have had an incident occur. The problem is violence towards both sexes. And it starts in the home where mothers and fathers spank their children, and or bully their children. This is not a male issue this is a parenting issue... both parents.
So violence and bulling is totally unacceptable no matter who is doing it, female or male, but to make this only a woman's issue is insulting and is unacceptable.”

“I remember when the Teaparty was formed and they protested in front of the Capital with rifles nearly identical to the type used in the school shooting strapped proudly to their chests. They strutted around intimidating even the police carrying hateful signs like Obama go join JFK... Many of these people strike me as bullies who view their opinions and rights as the only significant ones. These aren't their children they have an arsonal and safe rooms to protect their children besides they homeschool their children. Everyone's children need to be protected.”

“WI did last year.
In AZ, the current guns laws are less strict than they were just after statehood.”
“We have laws to protect us from people who do not follow common sense and moral judgement. So, when I hear or read that pro gun lobbyists are saying "dont blame the guns" it makes absolutely no sense. If you continue to allow guns to be owned freely, then you are going to be victim, repeatedly, of those without common sense or moral judgement. Mental illness can create the perfect storm of events when a weapon is readily available. You cant predict a psychotic episode.”
