“I hear what you are trying to say, I am Native American and because of the Jay treaty we can cross the border freely and not be a citizen. But the Mexicans never had a treaty signed like that for their people. I have lived in both Canada and the US as a lot of my family has. I feel for the Mexicans that have this problem, being away from your family and culture can be hard. It too bad there is so much hate directed at people just trying to better themselves , just like all the other immigrants that live here have done. I consider all but Natives and Mexicans immigrants, it terrible to be treated like a second class citizen on land that really is culturally yours. Oh well hopefully something can be worked out.”

“This land is not theirs anymore and no matter if they like it or not there are laws that we are all supposed to follow when coming to this land. I understand that they are trying to better their lives but if you do it by breaking the law then you must deal with the consequences of that choice to break the law. If you enter into Mexico illegal and then try and build a life they will not care when you are caught they are going to enforce their laws on you so why is it so bad when we do the same.”

“As far as I am concerned everyone except the native people indigent to this land, entered this country illegally. Therefore every one is an illegal. Stop the hypocrisy. What about the people coming in the front door on work visas or the outsourcing of jobs by businesses?”
jerryengelbach on Mar 14, 2014 at 06:32:00
“Thank you, Clint. The hatred on this thread is palpable.
It's amazing how many people are obsessed over undocumented immigrants but perfectly okay with the rich and powerful who are destroying the economy.
It's always easier to pick on the weak than to face up to the strong.
“Have you ever thought that just maybe she had an accident when she hit the 1st barracade, and then maybe she just panicked and it got out of hand, or she could have had a warrant and got scared. Not everyone is mentally ill they just make bad choices at spur of the moment.”
“Come on they are getting paid, it not like they get paid every day. Most of us get a paycheck every two weeks. That statement is just more scare mongering which is going on both sides but it seems the Liberals are crying worse.”
“I always here people say that the illegals will do the work that our society will not do, maids and picking fruits etc, etc. But that is now an outright falsehood, they have undercut labor jobs like roofing, construction labor, etc, etc. These are jobs I know a lot of people used to make a living at but can no longer do cause of being undercut by cheap illegal labor. That being said maybe it time our government start worrying about our job market instead of votes, but that will never happen.”

“If these workers are given some kind of legal status the crooks who hire them will no longer be able to exploit their illegal status and will have to pay them regular wages.”
“LOL, so much negative comments on Sarah, I must say though she hit this right on the head here. Why would our government give weapons to people who hate us so much. These weapons could be used against our own troops someday. It just blows my mind the foreign policy of this regime in office now.”
Jim Wetherell on Jun 15, 2013 at 18:00:21
“I kinda like the idea of keeping our troops home and sending enough to them so they can finish each other off. As crass as that sounds, I see no better option.”
Jim Wetherell on Jun 15, 2013 at 17:58:13
“Does it blow your mind anymore than the foreign policy of Dick Cheney, lil georgie's boss?”
“Something smells here to me, I used to work in the aviation field. I just cannot see this happening. I think some controllers are working to rule under union orders, so that if real permanent cuts were to happen they would be able to say look we are overloaded and cannot handle it. Whoever at fault they better fix it before they have something bad happen.”
pene on Apr 23, 2013 at 13:22:36
“if they work to rule, then when they are not working to rule, they are overworked. I'm not feeling that overworked controllers are the way we should be going.”
“I do not think so bud, and I am no Republican, but with your defense of this administration you must be a Democrat. I know the cuts were across the board but if the administration so desired they could change this situation. But your hero's prefer to play politics with people's lives.”
“Yes the GOP got there cuts, but that being said this administration could be cutting other stuff that does not matter, but they just playing political games by letting things the public needs or wants to get cut just to make the GOP look bad. In my eyes they both are equally to blame, it just bad government on all fronts.”
msgirlintn on Apr 23, 2013 at 10:14:42
The cuts were across the board. Your Republicans wanted them, they got them, and now they will be blamed for them.
No, both parties are not to blame. This is all on the GOP.”
“I am not saying that this is wrong, but I do have to say it the Republicans who complaining and I find that ironic. They fight to stop every bill over back ground checks on firearms, their reasoning is it violates the Constitution. Now this American citizen who happens to be a native of Chechen backgound is giving his rights per the Constitution , and now the Republicans are mad. You cannot use the Constitution when it serves your purpose and throw it away when it does not.”

“Well said. Needs to be said over and over again.”
GrimCityGirl on Apr 22, 2013 at 14:05:48
“Well said! The Republican war machine will hide behind terms like terrorism and terroristic threat to justify throwing the constitution out the window. It is the epitome of hypocrisy.”
“There needs to be a one term limit , and make a term 6 years. Maybe then our politicians would listen to the people who voted them into office instead of worrying about how there votes affect their re-election bids. Too many of our politicians are self serving or paid for by the highest bidders. It a sad statement of how our political system has become one of the most corrupt in the world.”
“I think a prosecution team wants to be in the spotlight. There is the not only the insanity plea. Not trying this case could have saved millions in court costs, In the world of deficits we live in this will put a nice dent in it, could you imagine the security costs alone for a lengthy trial.”
“I am of the mind that if the law soon states that they can have equal rights , I would say ok to it. Only if they do not force churches who are against it to have ceremonies for the LGBT community. If you wanna user the Constitution that is fine , but there is also a separation of church and state , so churches should be able to do as they please. A civil union with a judge is just fine.”
Rastafari59 on Apr 1, 2013 at 17:32:40
“A marriage with a judge. Sure. And all the many many churches that are ready willing and able to marry gays, as soon as the bigots get out of the way.”
samidean on Apr 1, 2013 at 17:17:56
“No one EVER said that churches would be required to marry anyone they want to discriminate against, but you are right about that separation thing, and I wish the religious right would get that FACT!
SmarterThanTheAverageBea on Apr 1, 2013 at 17:17:48
“No one has ever proposed, conceived of, or stated any desire or put forth any legislation that would ever infringe upon religious liberties and their freedom to do as they wish within their own churches.
The fact that this is of concern to you means that you are just a victim of right wing propaganda trying to bend the issue with lies to suit their own bigotry,”
EmmaDarian on Apr 1, 2013 at 17:16:01
“It's marriage with a judge, thanks. And it's sometimes marriage in a church, because some churches want to marry gay couples.
No churches will have to marry any couple they don't want to. That protection exists. Last year a white church turned away a black couple, and stated it was because only whites can marry in their church. Perfectly legal. So is it legal when some churches refuse divorcees or those who lived together.”

“"churches should be able to do as they please"
They. Already. Are.
This will not change.
Mediorite on Apr 1, 2013 at 17:10:41
“"A civil union with a judge is just fine."
You mean a civil marriage. No one is trying to force churches to perform ceremonies against their beliefs.”
