“Ford's advisers may say whatever they want. He will just ignore it/say it's fake and will keep saying "I get thousands, THOUSANDS of calls every day from Torontonians asking me to keep doing what I'm doing, keeping taxes low, bringing accountability to City Hall, etc". I don't know how it will be during the campaign though, you gotta think that he's going to be forced to talk to the media, let's see how that's gonna unfold.”
“Except that between Sanford, Clinton and Weiner, only one of those ran on a family-values, fiscal-responsibility platform. I don't care if some politician is sinning, except if he's trying to legislate other people's sins away.”
“Meanwhile everyone with a brain thought hauling out the Sanford name would insure him a defeat. You know, Sanford, as in Mark Sanford, the fiscal-responsible, family-values guy who used taxpayer money to cheat on his wife. That would probably be true if critically-thinking people were the only ones allowed to vote.”

“If your contention were accurate, Slick Willy would never have gotten a second term. Whether it's Sanford, Clinton, Weiner, or whoever, most Americans (sadly) don't really give a hoot about their morality and it's pretty much become accepted (again, sadly) that ALL of our politicians use taxpayer money to pay for whatever they want.”

“"thousands more wrote personal letters to the CRTC describing why they love Sun News and how it reflects their values and view of Canada"
Ugh, this is stuff that keeps me awake at night. To think that there's people out there for whom bigotry and hate are Canadian values...”

“Then those people who love Sun News should pay for it, the rest of us should NOT have too!
I bet if those "thousands" who love Sun News had to pay 9.95 a month for it, they wouldn't love it so much.”

“As for the thousands of letters, yes, congregations can be very compliant, as we see in my riding. Opinion polls in our local papers get stacked when the faithful are herded in the chosen direction - "98% of my constituents oppose gay marriage" at a time when national polls showed Canadians 65% in support of gay marriage.
Bottom line - those driving the message of the Right have minimal respect for democratic principles. No lie is too foul if it serves the agenda. The CPC has a history of staging its own people for phony photo sessions etc.. One can safely assume within the Harper realm, nothing is ever as it seems.
Show us the letters so the sources can be verified. Otherwise, call a referendum.”
