“Every employer, in any province, I've ever applied to or worked for required me to put in at least 40 hours a week. Every employer. Every province being BC, AB, SK and ON. This is not standard? Monday to Friday, 9-5?”
“We can tell it's not "The View" because the promoters have these four women hosting it posed like stoned Barbies. Like that's supposed to be cute and playful. Typical Canuck marketing BS, "Never offend anyone except intelligent adults." Maybe this is what waves of radioactive fallout from Japan is doing to us? I mean, have you seen Japanese talk shows?

“Always my policy: reinvest after paying any possible debt. Real estate has been good to me almost every time. Except for when that lake dried up...”

“All markets flip.... including real estate. Historically when it does, the vast majority of us outside of the elite and their friends get no warning.
I see this "news"as a con, creating a fictional boom in prices and another buying frenzy at as high a value they can get before they pull the rug out.
It is no different than the questionable increases in the price of gas... they tell us a load of complicated reasoning based in BS and baffle gab no one really understands or believes and saomehow manage to cover the unjustified price increases.
The so-called government for the people that should be there to protect us from these pirates are in fact in league with the pirates... in fact, they are a corporation that works for the pirates and shares in the spoils. Where is our share... paid to the banks to cover the interest they charge us for borrowing our own money. That fact, is another scam of the century
The "housing Industry" pirates (banks) are one and the same.”

“You assume I meant one or two of many cities in Alberta. Most of Alberta was not flooded.”

“@Glass..: So you bought a lot and a house with 3 garages, new Lamborghinies for Ms. and Mr. in the boonies, a small yacht, motor home, many ATV's and are self-employed technician, or in the oil patch.
Or, you paid the same or even more for a hillside walkout lot, etc., etc. in a image-maker subdivision or acreage next to the Richfields to live happily-ever-after.
No "furriners" were speculating, right?
But good for you-- the buyer probably did the same as you, and the cycle goes on....”

“I just sold an empty lot in an Alberta city for $325,000. Crazy, but fun.”
tgilecki on Aug 16, 2013 at 20:15:12
“Easy money.... Just remember, thats only on paper... converting it to real value would be wise. Paper is a fiat currency, no real value until you spend it... Buy stuff that is sought after and likely to increase in value... maybe more real estate LOL”

“Sorry but it could have been crazier...like still underwater.”

“Katrina is a great actress. I've seen a number of her films. I'm of the opinion that the Indian film industry is currently producing extremely high quality films, easily on par with anything Hollywood. We will be seeing more of these actors on the world stage and, I think, crossing over more and more into European and US productions.”

“Old ways? Like historical accuracy?
In a few years we will only know double-speak and our Dear Leader.”
CWalsh on Jul 5, 2013 at 15:49:54
“No... Old ideas, old ways of governing society, etc etc.. Almost Nothing this government says is accurate. In other words that double-speak you speak of is already and really always was here. It's the politicians way.”

“Most of the younger women I know in the workplace can't wait to get away, and "be a mom" - they talk about marriage, weddings, and babies, constantly. They are looking for traditional roles with financial security tied to the husband's/father's income.
Meanwhile younger men are running for the hills and have no intention of marrying and adopting traditional breadwinner roles. There are a lot of divorce horror stories for men out there. They don't want to give up their freedom, their children (better not to have any and lose them), economic gains, and investment potential.
While it's true that women's income has increased and that a lot of women out-earn men, many seem entirely willing to give it all up for children and family. Not wrong, but perhaps a dwindling prospect in modern society and today's economy.
I think we've really moved past Ozzie and Harriet, and traditional feminism alike. There will have to be something new.”

“Just as when college students support the NDP when they need student loans switch to the Conservatives when they have wealth and need their investments protected, Stephen Harper's earlier political positions only lasted until he had a majority government.
What we see today is the true Harper, the US Republican-style Harper. President, in his mind, of the Republic of Canada. Corporate Harper.”
