“Sorry to rain on your parade, but Pat Martim was the one making desperaging remarks. especially as a memeber of the House of Commons. Canadian's are better than Pat Martin”

“Sorry Henk, the victim card no longer plays. Your boys are no better than any of the others in Parliament and more often than not, worse. I don't believe it was Pat Martin who crossed the floor of the House to try to bully a member of the NDP.
Most Canadians are better than the CPC. See, two can play that game.”

“Using your analysis, that if I was a left winger I can be foul, discusting, vile, and condenscending as I want. ? Well my friend that tells me a lot about the NDPand their followers.
I believe in civil discourse.”
“Are you reading from the gospels of Al Gore ? This so called evil and dangerous sustance of CO 2 only represent 0.38% of the Earth's atmosphere. In other words a trace gas. And by the way plants just love CO 2. So if you really want a GREEN planet lets increase CO 2 in the atmosphere! We are at about 385 ppm today, and plants would thrive on 1000 ppm Going below 120 ppm of CO 2 in our atmosphere you won't have to wory about global warming. All life would be dead including humans.”

“Henky, you give yourself away in your response to my comment.
I know you don't care enough, but anyone who is interested can read Dr. James Hansen's "Storms of My Grandchildren". Dr. Hansen is the most respected climate scientist in the world. He explains the greenhouse effect and how CO2 concentrations over 450PPM will result in out-of-control positive feedbacks, leading to an unrecognizable Planet Earth.
There will not be a human in sight if CO2 reaches 1000PPM.”
“Becky - you are absolutely right, scientist are not magicians. Scientist are data based, with out the real facts any hypothsis is valid. On the other hand magician is the art of deception. Magic - The art that proports to control or forecast natural events, effects, by invoking the supernatural. The practice of using charms, spells, or rituals to attempt to produce supernatural effects to contol events in nature.
I certainly hope that governemnts react only on data supported facts not on emotional responses.”
“Becky - Follow the money trail and you will find the problem!”
RunningBecky on Dec 23, 2012 at 17:09:21
“Yuppers. I agree totally. And the money runs from Big Oil, whose worth is more then most countries to the politicians and the media they have intimate connections with and finally to the people who believe the mass propaganda lies they tell. Compared to that, the poor scientists dedicated to the truth don't stand a chance.”

“The so called "Progressive Conservatives" in Alberta are more liberal than the Liberals. This explains why Alberta under tutalige and leadership of Allison Redford. These so called Red Tories are remenants of the Joe Clark Tories.
Further to the above, words have meanings. "progressive and conservative is an oxymoron.”

“My friend, I would strongly recommend that you review the defamation and slander laws of Canada !. If NOW had just shown Ford with an red X across his face that would not be a concern, but to equate the symbolism with a historic despotic tyrant, changes the situation.”
Dec 3, 2012 at 17:08:37
“Lets just suppose that a picture of Jack Layton was on the front of NOW magazine with a big red X through his face. What would be the response ?”
Awetitu on Dec 4, 2012 at 08:26:26
“Jack's dead. I'd think it was a bit callous, but it wouldn't bother me over much, and I've met the man...”

PatientZeroBeat on Dec 3, 2012 at 17:53:43
“That he's dead, but they're a bit rude about it? I wouldn't think "hmmm, let's consider every instance of using an X over something but throw away all the innocuous ones but only compare to the worst people ever". All I thought about was "ex-mayor" when I saw the picture of Ford.”
Dec 3, 2012 at 16:37:33
“Good idea. Iam a strong advocate of litigation. It normaly clears the air and stops those who defame or slander other people! In my view Ford appears to have a strong case.”
Heather Blackett on Dec 4, 2012 at 10:48:55
“A strong case? A case against a rude depiction? What would he sue NOW for, being mean?
It is really hard to convey how utterly hated this man is among NOW's readers. I have a copy of the paper in question. I picked it up and loved the cover. It did not occur to me that this was a riff on TIME covers (nobody under age 65 reads TIME).
However, even if they'd showed Ford with a Htler mustache, i would not have blinked. It is a very partisan, cheeky, young paper, and Ford is so hated, it would not have been controversial except outside Toronto, just like this is.”

“The Castro spin is not a spin. I have recently finished reading a book by Margret Trueau " Changing My Mind".In it just confirms what I aready knew of Pierre Eliot Trudeau relation with Fidel Castro. In fact Justin refered to Castro as uncle Fidel. Being in the military in the 50's & 60's the FLQ was infiltrated by Cuban comminist cell groups mainly in Quebec. The 1970 FLQ crisis in Quebec was the accumulation of events in Quebec., certainly as Trudeau being PM knew about this.”
Liz Wilson 2 on Dec 3, 2012 at 20:31:24
“Indeed Trudeau and Canada was a friend to Castro when the US was imposing crippling trade sanctions. That relationship with Cuba has remained untouched for a very long time.
Price controls and wage controls have been used by every level of government at one point of time or another. Many people are asking for price controls on housing. those are not necessarily communist actions althought they are more supportive of the average worker than they are of corporations.

“If you are not an NDP than you are likely a facimily of a NDP. What gives you away is when you can not debate a issue rationally or logically you got a ad homenin attack,”
Skookum1 on Dec 7, 2012 at 02:43:09
“ad hominem attack is what you did to me pal, as is your equation of "if you're not NDP you are a facimily [sic] of a NDP". All you right-wing talking birds know how to do is allege things that aren't true, while supporting things that are neither logical NOR moral.”
Dec 2, 2012 at 18:50:54
“Hey Liz . . .
I can remeber 18 -24% mortgage rates, highest unemployment rates exceeding 12-14%, price and wage controls, under Canada's greatest Prime Minister, Pierre Eliot Trudeau. It had the appearance of being right out of the Fidel Castro's play book!”
Liz Wilson 2 on Dec 2, 2012 at 19:38:55
“Here is a great link it shows interest rates and inflation forof counties, US, Canada, Italy, New Zealand from 1958ish to 2010. Unsurprisingly the graph looks almost identical for each of these countries.
I somehow don't think we can credit Trudeau with influencing the entire world.
that idea and the Castro dig are most certainly the PMO spin”
