“He comes across as listening to special interest groups. I don't hear much on any real issue like the next free trade screw job with Europe. I don't feel their is any difference between him and previous liberal leaders. Just a puppet for the LPC old boys club in the hopes they get another turn at the public trough.”

“No proves mine . You blend right in. Just another person. This seems to be unacceptable you. Got what you claim to want ,total acceptance and the bland reality, your just another person . Or is it attention your craving.”

“Awww well if you're the type that insists on being "correct" then I have no problem allowing you to believe so. Afterall, in a free country being a proud individual with opinions is supported. I can understand that you're upset because most people are more comfortable with old problems than with new solutions
I'm here with a goal to help open your eyes and raise awareness. I tried. Just don't forget, Johnny:
Nature made us individuals, as she did the flowers and the pebbles; but we are afraid to be peculiar, and so our society resembles a bag of marbles, or a string of mold candles. Why should we all dress after the same fashion? The frost never paints my windows twice alike. ~Lydia Maria Child”

“What do you think a protest by a straight person(Whittlemore) was going to accomplish there except giving him the spotlight.”
Looshx on Jul 30, 2014 at 18:13:41
“It's not Gays vs the Straights; heterosexuals are allowed to support homosexuals in their bid for equality. In fact it's more than welcomed. I don't hate straight people and I want to take nothing away from them; I just want the same for myself.”

“Normal people . The ones going to work , paying their bills and just trying to survive in these society of free loaders. The people that at the end of the day are to tired to care what their neighbors are doing if it doesn't affect them. Sorry to disappoint you but isn't not caring about different sexual preferences means you have been accepted and are now just another backdrop. People that bring attention to themselves with stupid or selfish acts will be ridiculed. No different then someone dressed in a Comic Con outfit blocking a road. It is the stupidity not the person that is annoying people. The flamboyant "look at us we're different" act has worn out . Just old news and no one gives a damn. Face it your as main stream as a guy in a suit.”

“Funny: I know many homosexuals going to work , paying their bills and just trying to survive in this society. Why are they any different from you or I?
How does being a homosexual affect you again?
You don't dissapoint me. Your answers are exactly what I expect.
You don't consider yourself REFUSING to view homosexuals as equal as a form of bringing attention to yourself? because you are. Such stupid or selfish acts like refusing to accept them is the irony here Johnny.
You may think that standing tall and being proud of being different and NOT CONFORMING is silly and just an "act" but most compassionate canadians see it as a form of individuality. As an example: I'm Canadian and DIFFERENT than an AMERICAN and I'm proud of this. Ridicule me.

“I think you are wrong. People don't hate you. Most normal people don't care. What they hate is theatrics from so many groups that want something and scream prejudice if anyone dare question their demands. This protest was no different then the Tamils shutting down the Gardner, selfish people seeking attention, then "acting "surprised when it goes south. There were enough parks to enjoy in T.O. the only reason that one was picked was for show. Do you believe the 5 or 6 protesters were going to accomplish anything ?”
Looshx on Jul 29, 2014 at 23:15:44
“If you take a look around on the internet you will find plenty of people who hate us. You will see that parents throw their kids out of the house after they come out to them. They don't hate the theatrics, they hate us, and they hate that we are allowed to have protests for equal rights which you call theatrics.
Of course it was for show; what good is a protest if no one sees you? Also you never answered my question.”

“"Do you believe the 5 or 6 protesters were going to accomplish anything ? "
absolutely. look at racial equality movement as western culture abolished slavery. it began with ONE”
christellar on Jul 29, 2014 at 17:14:42
“"Most normal people don't care"
Somehow do you have data to support this? because otherwise it's just your opinion”

“Personal attacks because you have nothing to offer. Did Ford attack them,No. Is it his job to dance around in their parade, No. This was provoked by a few people thinking the represent the world when most of us are in different to them. Is it Ford's job as mayor to grand marshal every vocal groups events,No.”

“I actually didn't intend defending this particular cyclist...and there are many rule-breaking cyclists...
but there is a far greater number of rule-breaking motorists and they cause far more damage to life and property than cyclists.
There isn't nearly the backlash or criticism of the negativity of motor vehicles because of the status quo backed by the rich-beyond-belief auto industry.
They have duped some people into believing bicycles are a problem/menace...to deflect attention forom the fact of auto-destructiveness.”

“It bothers me when they protest at a family style event. People don't hate you they just hate this sort of "look at me immature actions". Go down to city hall and protest away, I don't care and most others don't either.. There is a time and place for everything . Thompson Park was neither, Nathan Phillips Square . Now why not go protest the real sources of hate, the various hard core religious institutions the openly denounce your values.”
Looshx on Jul 27, 2014 at 18:07:41
“OK I see where you are coming from. The problem is that this family style event is a lot like a political event where families who support Rob Ford are invited to attend. It's also in a public place.
Religious institutions do not make and enforce the laws in Canada (I hope) so protesting them does nothing to help the cause for equal rights and protection under the law. Political figures like Mayor Rob Ford do in fact make the laws and so if you, I, or anyone else want change, these are the people that need to hear the message. Please do note they have also gone to city hall but Ford goes a different route to avoid the protests and the people who do not agree with him.
And unfortunately, people do hate us. They hate us without even knowing us personally. They hate us before they see who we are, how we act, and what we think.
As a man I am sure you enjoy the privilege of being able to go out in public without a shirt on. Many years ago men protested for this right. They protested where they wanted to, in front of who they thought needed to hear them, and they made change happen. What would you have said to someone then if they yelled out profanities or talked about a 'time and a place for everything'?”

“I don't hear of them acting up at any of the more homophobic intolerant religious meetings. Is that because there are no TV cameras or is it not politically correct ?”
mrsmdressup on Jul 27, 2014 at 12:18:02
“Are these so-called "homophobic intolerant religious meetings" held in public parks? Do these groups robocall everyone with an open invitation to attend? Are these so-called meetings organized as campaign events for the entire electorate? If you answered no to any of those questions, you have your answer. Religious groups don't represent the city, they don't robocall residents with an open invitation to attend, and they don't masquerade themselves as citizen "open houses". The other question is - how would you know what these meetings talk about if you're not there? I can only assume that you attend these "homophobic intolerant, religious meetings" because only those in attendance would know what they are talking about.”
