“Thanks, maybe after undergrad I'll be able to actually read an article!
That number seems really high! 75% of undergrads are employed in what they want and even more are employed! Reading the news I thought it was more like 15% are employed 10% in their field of study.”

“The number seems high and the starting salary seems high. You send out a questionnaire to several thousand recent graduates. My instinct tells me only the more successful ones are likely to fill it out and send it back.
I recall a year or so ago I read an article about the antics of a certain senator. This was on the heels of American Liberal senators texting willy-shots and anti-gay Republican senators trying to pick up men in bathrooms. I made a disparaging remark about American politicians only to be corrected that the senator mentioned in the article was in fact Canadian. Let he without sin cast the first stone (and prepare to duck anyway).”

“What do they mean by graduating? Do they mean grad school or undergrad? Must be undergrad... they are all like 90%... BUT is the definition of employment just employed or employed in the field they studied? I think both are as awesome but Im more interested in their employment if they studied for what they now do.”

“Undergrad. 76.4% got jobs in their field of study.”

“You're wrong. You have to agree to the respect of others, that's all there is too it. Also Im not certain that this has anything to do with "imaginary friends" but if you require an imaginary argument to make your point I would say you arent any better than the people you just made up.”

“No i don't. I very much doubt you would agree to respect some Americans views on Manifest Destiny. I don't agree with any person claiming special privilege over the natural world based on their beliefs or the shade of their skin... you either do believe that or you are being completely inconsistent.. i'm going to bet inconsistent.”

“Yes I do. What I don't know is what your reply is supposed to mean.
You might be suggesting that what 'works' in the real world is symbolic gestures that get a great deal of media attention, demand little of the gesturer, and briefly (at best) focus public attention on a serious issue. Sadly, you might be right, but that's nothing for us to be proud of.
Alternatively, you might be suggesting that calling the press to ceremonially 'hand back' one's diploma in no way erases that diploma's having been achieved, because the real world doesn't 'work' that way. In which case, see above for comment regarding empty gestures.”

“Uhhhhh I guess if you stretch the definition of free speech as far as it'll go you have a point. I know you probably hold a Ph. D in political science but free speech does not mean "say literally anything you want and no one else can say anything about it."”

“"say literally anything you want and no one else can say anything about it."
You can say anything you want about the chanters. That's how free speech works.”
Cael Stigweard on Sep 12, 2013 at 01:47:32
“They can say whatever they want about it, hence free-speech.”
Hugh Gass on Sep 12, 2013 at 00:33:06
“They can say whatever they want in response to the chants, that's it. But cancellations and resignations should not be happening. If the chant is directly aimed at someone/ a group then it can be deemed not "free" speech. It really is free speech unless it is causing direct/ certain harm to people at that exact time.
It may be harming a few softies but they should get use to real life! Not everything is taken so seriously all the time. People can't be serious 100% of the time; some fun and joking is allowable.”

“Why is that so unbelievable to you?? Have you not left your house in 25 years?? Also why is it that we seem to think that women are incapable of contradictory bigotry??? SHOCKING NEWS: Women are people, therefore they are just as capable of being stupid as any other person.”

“In some countries you can face fines for leaving your flag out in the rain. Flags are highly formal and are symbols of respect for your country. Canadians have always had a hard time feeling pride for their country. This story is mostly summing up the fact that Canadians are not overtly proud of where they come from, its just not who we are.”
