“That's a sweeping statement. Do you know for a fact that all your students come from uncaring and undemonstrative homes? Are they all in juvie or group homes?
I HATE anyone poking me in my side. Not amusing and never found it to be in fun.”

“Yes, I work with children who come from low income families, some missing parents, many of which live with very elderly grandparents. There are some that get to see mom and dad but many work the common 15 hour a day shifts and don't see their kids. I teach in a poor area of South Korea. My students are 6-8 years old and we play a lot. They crawl up on my lap, they hug me while I sing to them, they play with my hair when I talk to them. There is a lot of love going between my students and I. They offer me stickers or their snacks or anything special to them to show that they care about me, too. This is an incredibly rewarding job. Not one of my students has ever responded uncomfortably to a teasing poke or tickle. I'm not jabbing them in the sides and most of the time don't make contact bc they burst into giggles before I can even actually touch them. Ummm, what is a "undemonstrative home." I realize you didn't know my experience or situation in order to judge my post. I'm sorry you didn't have a playful relationship with a teacher to where a mild poke was nothing more than a mild poke. Maybe you lack a sense of fun or humor. Maybe you are a big whiner. Or, maybe you hate being touched. That's not uncommon, either.”

“NL is an island of white people, so race is rarely an issue.
In small town Cape Breton, which is very similar to NL but less isolated, I can tell you that anyone "from away" has a long hard battle ahead of them. If you are different in any way - it matters. I've heard people say the most appalling things - like telling Jewish people they didn't think "that real Jewish people existed".
Lack of education and a whole lot of "that's just the way he/she is" attitude let's people get away with saying these things.”

“The larger the operation, the more likely that abuse is a problem. This is why we should support small family farms and not large corporate owned ones.”

“100% agree! I heard the farm owner on the radio this morning saying that he had no idea this was going on and has never witnessed it. Maybe he is telling the truth, but I would be interested to know where these bad practices started. If the person who shot the video was a former employee obv they have witnessed this in the past. This was not a one off.”
“Actually - marriage is a secular, legal thing. You can not get married without a license.
You can have all the marriage ceremonies in all the churches that you want to have, but without that piece of paper - you are not eligible to all the legal and financial benefits of marriage because you are not LEGALLY married.”
“[Meanwhile, Sandy Rios of the American Family Association said she was "revulsed" by the kiss before adding, “It’s just such an unnatural act, it’s hard to watch. I just don’t want to watch it, I can’t bear it.”]
Sandy dear, those feelings that stemmed from the bottom of your spine and flushed upwards towards your face, making you feel light headed and your mouth dry - that wasn't revulsion... that was lust. I know. I felt it too. I could hardly stand it. It is so unnatural that I, as a straight woman wanted to be there too even if it was just to hold the lotion and towels.”

“I would want to do more than just hold the lotion and towels....”

“"just to hold the lotion and the towels". THAT is priceless.”

“LOL. Your last sentence was great.
I never new straight women harbored a "Gay Threesome Fantasy" similar to the straight man "Lesbian Threesome Fantasy." This explains so much in regards to women like Sandy who so vehemently oppose gay marriage. There really aren't homophobic like they say their not. They simply think it will hurt the chances of experiencing their fantasy :)”
“Whether this is true for this man or not - the fact is that innocent people have been executed. They were executed while EVERYONE believed that they were guilty, except of course family and those in the legal professions that set them up, ignored evidence, or picked them to "solve" a crime.
Do you wish torture on those innocent men as well?
Bad enough they are executed for something they didn't do, but do we get to torture them as well, just to satisfy your bloodlust and need for vengeance?”
