“It's time for a political party that favors people over money.
It used to be the Democrats but not any more.”

“That's EXACTLY why the Progressive Movement MUST take hold. If a bunch of illiterate rubes can sustain the Tea Party, surely us educated, FORWARD thinking Progressive Liberals can do it too! WE MUST! The time could NOT be more ripe!
“So rather then raise taxes on corporations and the rich they are willing to undercut the social safety net. Rather then cut subsides to record profit industries like the oil corporations they check the price of cat food and cut SSI increases.
Who are these people and what planet do they live on? Where are the Democrats with backbone?
Social Security is an entitlement. You, me, him and her are all entitled to it. We paid into it and by law we are entitled to get it.”

“Why is the only option to raise taxes?
Both side have said that there is waste of various kinds in the operation of the government, why not go after what both sides agree is there but neither side seems interested in going after?”

“"We paid into it and by law we are entitled to get it. "
Get it from me?
Where in that statement does it say I get to pay part of yours?”
“Death is the only term limit for a Justice of the Supreme Court.”

“And when can we expect such a thing?”

“No there is another legal one: A supreme court justice is appointed for life that is true. However under article l and ll of the constitution they can be impeached and removed from office but only for the same kinds of crimes that any other official can be impeached. Article lll states that judges will hold their offices during good behavior and that is interpreted to mean high crimes and misdemeanors would permit impeachment. This would not include a statement or deciding made by the court. Impeachment must begin in the house of Representatives.”
“Gee I didn't know SSI was funded by the budget. Or contributed to the deficit.”

“SSI (Supplemental Security Income) is NOT SS (Social Security- actually OASDI -Old Age Survivor and Disability Insurance). Do your homework.”
msbeal on Oct 3, 2013 at 21:36:29
“Except for that brief payroll tax 'holiday' Social Security ran about 180 billion a year to the good. Excesses beyond payouts are usually used to buy Treasury notes. Last time I looked the Social Security Trust Fund is owed about 3 trillion dollars by the US government.
I always found it amusing how they showed SS outlays as debt payment and ignored the income side of that ledger. It gave the false impression SS operated in the red when it doesn't.”

“Running another war monger for President? If she couldn't see through the Bush bull spit in 2002 and voted for the Authorization for the Use of Military Force that gave us the Iraq war how can she be trusted as President?
I mean one of the reasons for running a woman is that she isn't a warmongering man. Running a warmonger woman is counterintuitive at best.”

“Hillary voted for u.n. inspectors NOT war. Bush already had authorization to invade Iraq.
SENATOR CLINTON: While there is no perfect approach to this thorny dilemma, and while people of good faith and high intelligence can reach diametrically opposed conclusions, I believe the best course is to go to the UN for a strong resolution that scraps the 1998 restrictions on inspections and calls for complete, unlimited inspections with cooperation expected and demanded from Iraq.
Even though the resolution before the Senate is not as strong as I would like in requiring the diplomatic route first and placing highest priority on a simple, clear requirement for unlimited inspections, I will take the President at his word that he will try hard to pass a UN resolution and will seek to avoid war, if at all possible.
If we get the resolution and Saddam does not comply, then we can attack him with far more support and legitimacy than we would have otherwise. http://aumf.awardspace.com/”
“Who continued to vote to fund the war after he got elected? How about your candidate Sen Obama? Have you thought about that? You seem to want to punish her for her vote which is your right yet ignore your candidate who continued to vote to fund the same war he said he would have voted against had he been in the senate. Ever heard of consistency in thinking? You seem to have a double-standard...”
“Really folks want this woman as the first woman President?
Wouldn't it be an easier sell if she wasn't a warmonger who voted to Authorize the Use of Military Force in 2002 and started the Iraq War?
Where is the change from all the men who came before?”
Party-of-many on Sep 22, 2013 at 11:08:22
“Living in the past I see...perhaps you can mature at some point. It might help. Yes, she voted to authorize the war and guess who continued to fund it all during his 4 short years in the US Congress? Sen Obama. Your childishness is not surprising however since that fact has been conveniently ignored.”
