“I think they did in a previous article and this one was just a sort of repost. I read about it/heard about it through CBC so the information was a little more detailed. But only very very slightly. The RCMP have been really tight-lipped about it and obviously for a good reason. I think as a whole we aren't going to get a lot of detail in regards to this case. ”
“There is little to no detail because the individual who committed the crime is a minor and therefore remains anonymous to the public. It is also noted that because the child is under the age of 12 they cannot be charged because of their age. Further details about this story can be found on CBC but they are equally limited as a result of the age of the offender.
I doubt we'll ever get the full story.”

“i read that on other stories...my point is why didn't Huffington Post print all available details?”
“Well in the technical sense it is a word. However most dictionaries that list it state that it's incorrect and suggest you use regardless. It's a bastardization of two words. Most likely regardless and irrespective. So it may be in the dictionary and many people may say it, but it doesn't change the fact that it's redundant and incorrect. ”

“Never really had an opinion on the word. Have never used the word or even heard of the world before reading this article. However, this over obsession the word irregardless is quite perplexing. It is the words. Yes, it is believed to be the blending of two words, but that is one why words enter into languages.”
“I'm an only child and I often find myself frustrated with the stereotypes that people mindlessly apply to me without actually getting to know me. Am I selfish? Sure, but every person is selfish in varying ways and if you refuse to admit that you're just lying to yourself. Was I spoiled and am I still spoiled? I guess you could call it that, I've had a lot of opportunities and things provided to me by my parents. I prefer to call myself lucky, I wake up every day knowing that and as a result of it I don't argue when my parents ask for help with something. Am I lonely? No, not really I find that I'm extremely comfortable in my own company. I think growing up without siblings forced me to be creative, I read a lot and I still do.
I also had the benefit of growing up in a large extended family. I always had cousins to play with and relate to and we're all still very close as adults.
I have several close friends who are only children and the thing I notice the most about all of us is that we're extremely self aware, most are driven and have a clear idea of what they want out of life and none of us seem to have issues getting along. I think if anything we're all more blunt and less likely to play games. But that's just my experience.”

“Hi Gen-X'er, I'm part of Gen-Y and I'm not going to lie. I find your advice mildly condescending. I KNOW that my career is not going to complete my life and that I need to look at other avenues to maintain my happiness. What I would like is more than a six month contract job, a foot in the door or perhaps the ability to move up in an organization. Also, I know that your career might end, I watched my dad start over in his forties because an industry collapsed in our area.
Nothing is perfect, but when you aren't receiving any opportunity no matter how many roads you take it gets frustrating. I grasp the economic realities but it doesn't make them any less frustrating. I'm not expecting my dream job to fall in my lap, I want to work for it. But in order to do that I need opportunity...but I'm repeating myself.”

“Empire Records, Pulp Fiction, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Whip it has a really awesome soundtrack as well. I also really liked The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I had to listen to it a few times through to really like the soundtrack. Reservoir Dogs.”

“nice work, Empire records is epic, how did they miss that! Also, Pirate Radio is really good to, and not a bad flick besides”

“I wasn't asking you to do my research DuffsCorner I'm fairly capable. Have you ever considered that I'm just musing and not trolling. I guess things get lost in translation and I'll keep my musings to myself. But thanks for the instruction and the snark. I didn't need them.
I just always find it interesting when advocates for the environment expose themselves as just as guilty. ”

“Just out of curiosity are there any statements that Gore has made around these resources? I'd be curious to compare. ”
DuffsCorner on May 8, 2013 at 21:30:23
“My post was in response to the assumption that the US has few fossil fuel resources. Al Gore did make the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" which wasn't about Canada, was it? I would assume he would say leave them where they are but if you're interested in what he has to say do your own research and google his name.”

“I wonder if he'd be saying the same thing if the resources were in the United States...Just an aberrant thought.”

“Did you even read the article? If you did, do you understand what you read?”

“Wonder no more. Check out the US Geological Survey of estimated oil and natural gas reserves. teeic.anl.gov/er/oilgas/restech/dist/index.cfm They're already pumping oil in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico, and many other states and there's so much natural gas being accessed that the price has dropped dramatically.”
“I'm not splitting hairs, it doesn't terminate a pregnancy. If you are already pregnant this pill does absolutely NOTHING. It prevents conception. Just like birth control. Are you saying that taking birth control of any sort is getting an abortion because it's preventing conception? Now I am splitting hairs.”
“But they can get birth control and condoms at fifteen. So I fail to see why Plan B shouldn't be treated like any other preventative measure. Accidents happen, birth control fails and condoms break. Also you're assuming in your statement that all family units are stable and understanding. That's an incorrect assumption on your part.”
“It's not an abortion, do your research about the Morning After Pill before you make ridiculous statements like this one.”
cgert88888 on May 1, 2013 at 22:15:24
“A more correct statement would be that it is not 'necessarily' an abortion because it may well be an abortion, but that is not the point. The point is that a court has said that a 15 yr old can get unrestricted access to a drug: an age when parents are still legally responsible for the actions of their children. They can't drive a car or travel on an airplane without parental consent and they can't buy a beer or cigarettes at all and, if they did, the parents could go to jail for negligence. I don't care how liberal you are, the court has no business sticking its nose into family affairs. This decision does an end-run the family unit and its entire belief system, quite possibly cutting the family out of an opportunity to deal with a minor child's behavior.”

“Yes, it is not the actual medical procedure, but are you splitting hairs?”
“I'm going to point this out and I'm not even sorry for it. I feel for the Dziurzynki, it sucks being on the losing end of a tilt andhe's a rookie. But McLaren is a known enforcer. He went into that fight knowing exactly who he was up against. He may have made that decision all charged with the excitement of the game but he still made the choice.”
