“I'm pretty sure the Same Old Party HAS BEEN talking to women on an emotional level. They've been telling them that women are inferior, that they must be subservient to the men in their lives, and that they have no right to abortion services or birth control. They also want free rein to make women pay more than men for everything, while earning less than men. Women get the Republicans' message loud and clear. That's why most women are Democrats. Well, that and the fact that the Democrats actually care about women and women's issues.”

“"They've been telling them that women are inferior, that they must be subservient to the men in their lives, and that they have no right to abortion services or birth control."
That's what the church has told them and women make up the majority of these congregations and the vast majority of those there every Sunday. Feel free to take those issues up with women. The men are home watching football.”
“This is turning into a gallery of false inference. I watched "Suits". It may be smart, but the plot lines are thin, the legal issues are abstruse, and it mainly consists of sleek, over-groomed people trying to one-up each other. No substance whatever.”

“Different strokes......You had me at "abstruse", though. Had to look it up.”
“It's not a "known fact" that she has no Native American ancestors. She was told by an elder in her family that she does. You conservaboob liars can't prove it's not true. Also, she never benefited in any way from that statement. You hate her for other reasons. You don't have the moral standing to make accusations against her, especially scurrilous and fraudulent ones like this. You are NOT beneath contempt.”

“She knowingly took a position that could have benefitted a true Native American.
You take this rebuke personally.
That tells me you have too much invested in your leaders.
Seek direction in your own life and stop expecting elected representatives to do it for you.”
“Third way can only gibber incoherently, instead of articulating anything intelligible. This is symptomatic. Third Way's rationale is equally incoherent. Third Way doesn't represent anybody. It's nothing but a fraud.”
“Of course, at the time, the Democrats stood ready to pass legislation which would help generate jobs. Contrast that with the Republicans, who stand in the way of ANYTHING being done which might help. They adamantly refuse to do anything to correct the situation. It's more important to them to prove that government doesn't work.”

“Oddly, GW Bush, Reagan, Clinton and Bush Sr were all able to pass their legislation with the other party controlling half or all of Congress.”
“It's become evident over the years that conservatism damages the brains of those who insist on "believing in it". At a certain point, it even causes them to be incapable of using ordinary words in their normal sense. Everything in creation has to be redefined, in order to make any of it fit together in a way which conservaboobs are able to understand. Of course, even then, they're wrong.”
“Calling cake-making "creative work" is unreasonable. It's merely baking and frosting. Pretending that supplying a cake for a gay wedding reception is "promoting" gay marriage is unreasonable. There is no reasonable meaning assignment which makes that usage work. Pretending that an order for a cake for a gay couple is in any way different from any other order for a cake for anybody else is unreasonable. Maintaining that it's defensible for shopkeepers to pick and choose among their customers, depending on which fit their "moral" criterion is unreasonable, when the criterion being used is a matter of personal preference which injures nobody. Your whole attitude to this incident is unreasonable. That's why you can't give any valid explanation of why the shopkeeper's conduct should be allowed, and you have to resort to incorrect, loaded terminology.”

“I have given a valid explanation. You just don't like it. I agree that this is in the borderlands of free speech, but I support that right as fundamental and superior to many others. The couple here should be able to marry. They should receive all the state benefits that come from that union. But they should not be able to force someone else to express himself as they choose.”
