“I agree with CEO Schnattner. Pizza is nutritious. Yet I don't buy from P Johns. He is cheap - we witness how he treats labor. He uses cheap ingredients. Their motivation is profit, not caring for people.
I make my own or select quality pizza houses. Tomato sauce, great. Quality breads and cheeses. Lean meats, fresh veggies. Yes, pizza is good for us. And, the CEO is correct - not too much and in moderation.”
“Boehner claims, "... I am astute enough to understand that every proposal that has come out of this administration to deal with climate change involves hurting our economy and killing American jobs. That can't be the prescription for dealing with changes in our climate."
FALSE: Just yesterday, HuffPost ran a story about "one of America's dirtiest coal plants."
The TRUTH: None of Boehner's dire predictions came to pass. Instead, the massive western Pennsylvania power plant is expected in a few years to turn from one of the worst polluters in the country to a model for how coal-fired power plants can slash pollution.
“I have a good friend who is gay and votes Republican. It's his choice. I don't feel sorry for him. We have the RIGHT to suffer in America - millions and millions who vote Republican for various reasons do so as well.
If you want to live like a Republican, you have to vote for Democrats!”
“Yes, John, you're "not qualified." Please step down so we can get someone who is. Our lives, the lives of our children and grandchildren depend on our leaders having sufficient expertise. You don't. Please do the honorable thing and step down!”
“@Todd - yes, I agree with you: the right to self-defense is a natural right. That's why god gave you a fist. That's natural. Pick up a rock or stick, that's natural. A gun is not natural.
You claim assuming the MANY is more important than the ONE is socialist thinking. Maybe. Tell that to the hero in the fox hole who dives on a grenade to save his "comrades." Yet claiming YOU are more important than 300+ million is SELFISH thinking. You have the right to buy an island - there are many here in the S Pacific. You can make your own laws; provide your own security; and do exactly as you please. Yet you pledged allegiance to the USA. You are part of the whole - E Pluribus Unum, which is on the Seal of the USA - out of many, one! You did not pledge allegiance to YOU and yours.
In 1787, a gun was a flintlock. This was the technology behind the 2nd amendment. We do not know what our Founders would have said about modern weapons. The Civil War made it clear a state was subservient to the fed - the continuation of the union superseded the right of an individual state or number of individuals.”
“@Amanda - then the Right needs to quit saying Obama and Liberals are coming for their guns!
I agree with you about Mental Health. Unfortunately, it's a sticky area. You (or me) may be fine today when we buy a gun, but two months from now, something upsets us and we freak out. How does the Village control this without intense privacy violations??? Would we all need to have an "emotion" chip in our bodies?”
“@Mac - thanks for making MY point. You want the freedom to own guns - at the expense of others and the community. You're a male - and like many males, appears to care about HIMSELF at the expense of others.
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Well Regulated Militia??? necessary to the security of a FREE STATE - not a FREE individual. The Civil War answered the issue about a FREE state. The federal government is in control. Your VOTE protects YOUR freedom more than a gun. Guns owned by immature and selfish people are a threat to ALL our freedom and safety.”

“The right to self defense is a natural right. This right is protected by the 2nd. Removing the right of the individual from the equation assumes that the right of the state supersede the right of the individual. That is a very socialist mentality.
My vote protects nothing. The constitution protects my freedom from those that would infringe on my rights. That is the purpose of the constitution. It does not grant rights, it protects them.
The civil war ensured an end to slavery, but it did not answer any issue about a free state.”
“@Joe - define leadership ... some would say, "the ability to get others to do what you want done." Now, take Syria. Obama didn't want to involve the USA in another war in the Middle East; Americans didn't want this either. Thus, Obama threatened action. Putin stepped in to protect Russian interests in Syria. The UN acted effectively.
America didn't go to war; taxpayers didn't get stuck with another Foreign War bill; American heroes were not required to spill blood.
Any president can RUSH into war; it takes leadership to force other nations to do the work for us.”
“Usama Bin Laden laughs at us from the grave. He spent about $500,000 and lost 19 soldiers. We've spend trillions and trillions -- losing thousands of heroic troops, murdering some 150,000+ -- in response.
He's dead. We're slowly dying. Our debt increases daily. Our jobs are gone - think what would have happened had GW Bush spent $1,000,000,000,000 on solar panels for our homes ... all 110 million homes could now have $10,000 in panels. This would have reduced energy costs PER HOUSEHOLD by 50% or more.
That would have been a Middle Class tax break; that would have stimulated small business, increased innovation and good paying jobs, and prepared America for the future. Instead, we're battling cockroaches -- for no reason at all.
“@David - "That is what the left is trying to do with gun control. If it is right for guns, it has to be right for abortions..." Some 90% of Americans want stricter gun control - across all political ideologies. Yet does it happen? NO
Yet we see restrictions on abortion daily. Why don't you put a gun in the woman's womb? Let fetuses protect themselves if they are SO ALIVE ...”
ilovemyrights on May 22, 2014 at 13:26:18
“We have gun restrictions daily. I can't live in DC and get a handgun although they are legal there now. I can't get a permit to carry a gun. Abortion and Gun Rights are equally popular. They are both constitutional rights. They are legally and morally the same. If you believe in one you must believe in other or you are a hypocrite.”
“I wish there were "christians" in the South. They built their society around slavery. It took northern Liberals to shed blood to correct that travesty. Pro Life? Not for Black people. Pro Life? Not for poor people. Pro Life? These people are the first to RUSH to war.
Pro Life? These people are simply hypocrites demanding BIG Government in the vagina. They want to control our sexual behavior. They're not interested in protecting life. History shows us what they think of life ...”
“@Jon - and, I answered you. I said, YES. But I also added why it's difficult to change the way one walks, runs or exercises without this foot covering.
The title of this article is, "Why We Fell for 'Barefoot' Shoes," and essentially claims we are looking for shortcuts. I've taken no shortcuts. I work hard - and harder now due to these foot coverings. The entire article and majority of people posting have a negative slant to their comments. Why? If one doesn't like them, don't buy. Yet they are very useful.
You assumed I could have done what I did without the shoes. People can't. I listed some of the reasons. And, as I wrote, I don't understand this NANNY attitude where people feel they are justified in spreading negativity about things they know nothing.”
“@Jon - thanks for the "uninformed" tip. Yes, changing the way I walk, exercise and run has helped. Yet one cannot workout in a health club barefoot. And, while it may be possible for you, I can't run on most surfaces without some skin protection.
What I don't understand is WHY people like you - who apparently don't like or buy the shoes - care what the rest of us do? Just shows what a NANNY state we live in. These shoes don't do anything - except cover our skin. How we walk or exercise is the issue. Land on your forefoot and toes, as we were intended to do, and everything will be fine. People only land on their heals due to artificial technology of padded heals in shoes. This has allowed us an unnatural gait.”

“Please climb down off your high horse.
I dont care what you choose to waste your money on. Knock yourself out. I was just asking the question as to how running the "new" way in an old style show is any different than running the new way in these things.”
“People blame the shoes - but they really work. It's the people who failed ! I love them and they have have helped me immensely.
But in order for the shoes to work properly, users have to train themselves to run in a style that’s unnatural to many of us, according to John Porcari, the director of the University of Wisconsin’s program in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Porcari said FiveFingers shoes require the runner to start with the ball of his or her feet -- rather than heel first, as most people typically run.”

“Ever think that the shoe is irrelevant and just changing the way you run is what helped you?”
