“Faved by accident.
Why all the friction to chase this particular resource? Because NB has nothing else. Hundreds of millions of dollars in deficit, billions in debt, and reaching the point where they're not going to be able to meet payroll.
They have no other options.”

“"So, I need to read up on it before I know what these decision/law makers do, day to day?"
... ummm, yeah. Most of the time filling a knowledge gap involves reading.”

“That's a nice response. Uh hm...good on you! All that non-verbal, un-written down stuff, makes no difference. It's all in books, right? No. These people are accountable day by day to the people and if you can tell me, without being sarcastic (there's your day's challenge!) what they do day to day, then let me know. Not theory, not what they're SUPPOSED to be doing, but what they do. I'll read it, I promise. If you don't know what they do every, single day, on your dime, then why don't you know? Could it be that they're so above you that you have to account for what you do in your job, but they don't have to tell you what they do in theirs? Seems rather unfair when you're paying to keep these people well fed and in orange juice for life. But if it makes sense to you, keep buying the system. ”
“Hawking stated that transferring brains into computers would allow for 'life' after death. I was simply pointing out that if that were possible, the result would not meet the standards that we use to characterize life.”
“You asked me to re-think my list. I can't, as it is not my list, but a widely accepted list of criteria used in the biological community to define life.To humour you, though, you're thinking on too small of a scale, and acting on the assumption that something has to meet all of the criteria to be considered a life.”
“Hilarious. It would be called a life only if the currently accepted definition of life were changed. I'll offer you the same suggestion I made in my original post: You don't understand biology. Insisting in the way that you are is only making you seem foolish.”
