“Let's all send emails to the evangelical organizations asking them to take the bold step of standing with and opening their doors to the persecuted gay, lesbian and transgendered people in Uganda, Nigeria and Russia.”

“Our family has had excellent care in Canada. Collectively there have been emergency craniotomy with 3 week hospital stay, premature baby delivery and care, many, many surgeries, aneurysm stent assisted endovascular coiling, and much more, all with excellent care.
No one in Canada has ever lost their home or retirement due to health care costs.
We must be diligent in Canada as our present federal government leader, Stephen Harper is setting us up to move to privatized health care. We are hoping for a change of government in 2015.”

“I'm glad to hear that your experiences have been good. And you're right about Harper, he wants to privatize it all. I had a seizure late August 2010 and by Oct 21 I had been through a battery of tests and having a craniotomy to remove a brain tumour. My Oncology team is in Hamilton and the most pressing worry I have is how much to pay for gas to the cancer centre and parking. That's a hell of a lot better than worrying about losing my house for treatment,.”

“Prohibition increases the availability of pot to youth. What a huge waste of money by Health Canada and our elected federal leaders. Surely the money could be better used for health care rather than this political posturing.”
“So with her logic then all Canadians are hooked on our health care? And the problem is.....? Once again, no one in Canada has ever lost their savings, retirement or home investments due to a health crisis. Perhaps she could check out all the countries with universal health care and explain what the republicans are so afraid of.”

“It is a first step toward legalization and regulation. Vancouver City Police choose not to shut down the Medical Cannabis Dispensaries. In other areas the police choose to shut them down, for example in New Westminster. The sensible BC campaign, if successful would allow us to vote on this important issue. Many, many people use cannabis for medical purposes. For chronic pain it is very effective and a welcome alternative to pharmaceutical narcotics which can be toxic to the body especially with long term use. Unfortunately it is still illegal for medical cannabis patients to possess cannabis. Possession charges have actually increased since 2006 while the majority of Canadians favour legalization. It is time to bring some sanity to Canada.”
“When you begin to explore how well cannabis works for chronic pain you may wish to try using edibles over smoking it. There are also vaporizers for smoking it with less impact to the lungs. Hopefully you'll be able to get off the narcotics or cut down on them significantly.”
“Well if the same said school bus driver was drinking booze that would be a problem as well. Should booze be illegal because of that possibility?
How about we expect bus drivers to be sober? Do you have any other examples that you fear?”

“Poor example. If the driver was drunk, that person could very well be sitting in the slammer. It is illegal to drink and drive in America.”
