All these questions come to mind when I think of Mr. Harper. I've got my own answers to some of these question and none of them are sympathetic to the Harper Tories. Vote against the Tories in the next election, because they've made a mess of our great country.:)”

“How can this trade deal be anything but a disaster for Canada, since no one, but the PM vetted it. Harper, who has no life experience, nor any work world experience, outside of conservative politics is making trade deals affecting the entire country, by himself. He's like a hockey GM, making trade deals, that has never played the game himself. And the media wants us to believe this trade deal is the best thing since sliced bread with little or no evidence to back up their claim. I think the media has let us down again, by now asking the tough questions, like who was involved in the negotiations, etc.”

Another article mentioned it may affect the dairy industry and for me personally it will be a relief if the deal lowers the price of milk and cheese. 2 yrs ago I purchased my first foreign made vehicle. Probably nothing else in the deal will affect my day to day life.”

“Harper is a dinosaur and a dictator that has no idea what his own cabinet is doing, or so he says. Marijuana should be a non issue when you look at the serious violent organized crime problems we are dealing with everyday. Legalizing marijuana would be one step towards taking proceeds away from organized crime and redirecting those funds into taxes for health care and education instead of law enforcement, which is obviously not working”

“Anyone with half a brain in their head knows trafficking of illegal drugs and the use there of in Canada is out of control. The laws put in place to control the use and distribution of illegal drugs have been an abject failure. Drug use and it's distribution go on unchecked, despite the billions of tax payer's dollars used on enforcement. I could care less if Trudeau smoked. He and a majority of Canadians have smoked. There's no use being in denial about it. You can't have unchecked drug distribution in this country and not be effected by it personally in some way. To believe anything less is naive. What I care about is the billions of tax dollars spent on law enforcement that doesn't work. The Tories, who support the continued waste of tax payer's money on failed policies are the real problem. It's time for some new laws and a new Government. Don't vote for the Tories in the next election.”

“There are two types of ideas, good and bad. The Tories come up with a lot of bad ideas. I believe you're confusing, Liberal bias with simple opposition to bad ideas. You haven't looked at it that way because Tories put little thought into the few ideas you do have. Instead you'd rather cling to some paranoid notion that the CBC is against you. You Tories are pathetic. Canada needs to get rid of the Tories. We are not better off as a nation under Tory leadership.”

“Since when did this issue become about the CBC? This is about a Tory Government trying to stifle descent. Plus there was no problem with the CBC until the Tories came to power. There was no problem with the UN, OAS, the Wheat Board, etc. All these Tory issues are issues of conviction, not fact. Now the Tories are attempting to dictate what private Canadian citizens can say. You've been duped into thinking there is a CBC issue. It's pure Tory make-believe.”

HarleyOpenRoad on Jul 12, 2013 at 20:23:07

“There was no problem with the CBC before Harper was elected because the CBC loathes the Conservative govt and makes little effort to hide it.

The CBC needs to be politically neutral if it is mostly financed by tax dollars. If it continues to unabashedly promote liberal policy, let the liberals pay for it.”

Doug Derouin on Jul 12, 2013 at 20:18:16

“Maybe you are 25 or something younger. I am a CBC fan and it has changed little since I started listening in the early 70's. Also note I said all media has a slant. Not just the CBC.
The UN has been ineffective for decades. Long before Rawanda. The Wheat Board is still there but it gives freedom of choice like the farmers in Ontario and east have had for decades. It sucks when Democracy gets in the way. OAS age wise was moved up and can be moved down. In case you did not know CPP ( our real pension) was not touched.
The general revenue draining, year in and out was bumped up for a reason. People live longer?? Cripes Guy they gave you a near decade heads up?? When Harper gets defeated the Dippers or whoever can lower it to 10 years old if they want. I doubt if they will ever touch it . Remember what the question was at the get go. I did not focus on the CBC other than to compare it to the BBC. I listen to the CBC 3-5 hours a day. I just know where it is and has been and is heading. The Tories will never manage/remove or figure out how to move the CBC from the left to right much less the centre. I am okay with that. I just take its news division with a grain of salt.Cut funding to it? Inflation increase only.”

The Government of Canada should never be in the business of telling private Canadian citizens what they can, or cannot say, think or do (as long as its within the law).”
