“If Republicans had their way they would claw back every benifit Unions forced upon the work place.
Stop taking your weekends and holidays and never call in sick. You would be the perfect worker.”

“ur wrong... they WOULD make things a bit more fair. Ever watch a construction crew with half a dozen guys standing around scratching their butts while one guy does the work?
I worked all my life, only 6 months as a union worker then i opted out. I had all the perks i wanted AND earned, did well, retired with a good pension. ALL with out a union.. I DO credit them with a LOT of good things but it's time to cut them WAY back!”

“0s are a way for lazy teachers to get out of making the kids actually do the work.
In the end they are probably glad it was not handed in, less marking to do.”

“Teachers are lazy if the kid doesn't do their work? Do hamburgers eat people in your world too?”

“Dead wrong. I'm a teacher and this couldn't be further from the truth. Oh, and I used to be a student, and I would have so totally taken advantage of a stupid policy of not giving a ZERO to a non-existent project. The prospect of a ZERO was great motivation to actually do the work. And it is in a teacher's interest that students do well, that everybody passes. I'm not just talking about the moral and ethical reasons, but the purely practical ones as well. I most certainly do NOT want to deal with the ramifications of a failing student (although my ethics prevent me from artificially passing one who doesn't deserve it).”

“As Dorval stated, he gave opportunity for assignments to be handed in late. he encouraged the students to get the work done. I have seen this in action with my own son in high school. Teacher didn't think a test result was appropriate to his level of competency and gave him the opportunity to re-write. We as parents encouraged it. son didn't comply. He had to take a class again just to get his diploma.
The potential for handing out zeros raises the level of work a lot. If the student takes the teacher up on an offer to redo, the teacher still has to do the work. Even if they don't accept the offer, the teacher and parents are doing the work to try and motivate the student.”

“So the teacher is lazy for not going to the students house and forcing them to do homework?
Talk about a lack of personal responsibility.”

“If the kid does not bother doing the work or declines to communicate any issues with the teacher, it isn't the teacher that is lazy. You don't hide from your boss when an presentation is due. Try taking responsibility for your actions.”
“This is why pinheads like you can't comprehend global warming vs climate change and the reasons any increase in the average temperature leads to extreme weather occurring more frequently. As it stands 0.6 degrees is only the beginning of the warming we have started.”

“And what about the last time it was 0.6 degrees warmer? Or 0.6 degrees cooler? Quit name calling and try to bring real evidence.”
