“A year after Sandy Hook and all the subsequent promises to tackle the assault weapons problem absolutely nothing was done.
A year later they want to ban undetectable fake guns? No wonder the rest of the world is looking at us in disbelief.”
“Thank you Detroit African American community for turning your backs on this lunatic and the Party that proclaimed that racism ended when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus.
The GOP can try all they want but the African American community can clearly see through their pathetic smoke screen also given the fact that all states trying to disenfranchise their communities with their voter ID laws are Republican run.”
“Setting up this elaborate scenario from getting the office, equipment, staff, fake news reports all in the time while bozo is sleeping it off in the truck?
The prank is on the viewer of this video but the message still is worthwhile.”

“Whether endangered or not, whether cultural or not but for the Minister of the Crown with an Environmental portfolio to post this picture shows total lack of sensitivity and underscores the lack of foresight and mental capacity so evident in most of Harper's cabinet.”

“She posted it to HER twitter followers, not to everyone.
In theory, twitter groups are for those with similar interests, and I am guessing everyone who elected her was very pleased about the twitter and community good wishes. Now if an Environment Minister drove a gas guzzling auto, used private airlines, littered, did not recycle ... Now THAT would concern me.”

“no lack of sensitivity on her part but a BIG lack on your part - the kill was a celebration for her young cousin and is a part of the ritual the people of the North go through as they evolve into adults. Shame on you for throwing politics into this!”

“Aside from the fact the Obamacare has nothing to do with public health care this mayor just keeps on embarrassing Toronto with his lack of knowledge and absurd behaviour. He seems to wallow in the media attention especially south of the border.
There's no American who hasn't heard of the crack smoking Rob Ford so we'll see if the border official will refuse him entry into the U.S. at Christmas. After all a young Vancouver woman was denied entry for admitting to having smoked pot in the past.”

“Justin Trudeau might have the same problem going to the US”
“Here I thought we only throw suspected terrorists in jail without charge or trial. No wonder Human Rights Watch classifies "justice" in America as dubious. Whites and African Americans engage in drug offenses at roughly equivalent rates, yet 45 percent of inmates in state prisons for drug offenses in 2009 were African American; only 27 percent were white..

“I always thought you'd need permission before using someone's image for a publicity campaign being commercial or political. But given Ford's narcissism and intelligence he's probably quite flattered.”

“Sint Nicolaas (Saint Nicholas or Sinterklaas) is celebrated on Dec.5th and is mainly aimed at very small children who believe the Saint's helpers come down the chimney to deliver the presents and in the process get their faces black because of all the soot in the chimney. Saint Nick and Christmas are two different events in Holland. The Dutch tradition was brought to New York (then called New Amsterdam) by early settlers and eventually moved to Christmas. The influence of other cultures replaced Zwarte Petes with elves and his white horse with reindeer. Sinterklaas became Santa Claus.
The politically correct world made this another example of much ado about nothing.”

“As one poster said, can you explain the big red lips and curly hair, did he get that from the chimney too?”
“I wonder if the loved ones of those killed and injured in these corporate sponsored riots can sue these retailers? If a woman can collect a fortune for spilling a hot coffee then this wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities?”

“Not with much success. It took the courts three years to fine WalMart $7k for the last person trampled to death.
“A handgun should also do the job. My motive is that military style weapons like the Bushmaster are only designed for mass killings and should be taken off the market to reduce the chances of it falling into the hands of some other psycho-style Sandy Hook killer.”
Cargosquid on Dec 1, 2013 at 01:58:38
“Really...then Cho and Loughner used the wrong weapon. Holmes' rifle jammed...he resorted to Biden's favorite killing machine. Alexis.....also used a shotgun. Lanza is the only one that used a semi-auto rifle.
You really have no idea what a Bushmaster is, do you?
You do realize that total murders involving long guns in 2011 equaled less than 350, right...that means that the AR platform was used in a FRACTION of all killings....feet and fists killed more people.”
CelticMajic on Dec 1, 2013 at 00:15:25
“You confuse purpose and design. Firearms of all descriptions are designed to provide a platform from which a projectile can be fired at great speed. The purpose that a firearm is used for is purely up to the human. Hunks of metal and plastic have no special powers...well maybe you think they do...do you?”
Pattyobrian on Nov 30, 2013 at 19:29:04
“The military uses a semi-automatic 9mm berretta m9 pistol. does that mean I shouldnt be able to own one? but you say pistols should be allowed. So which is it? no military weapons in civillian hands? or only whichever weapons YOU think aren't scary?
btw in the 1780s a semi automatic rifle was developed and issued to austrian troops. Its called the girandoni air rifle and had a 40 shot cappacity. Lewis and Clark even brought a few with them to impress the natives. But your right, no one could have forseen that technology developed 200 years ago, well before our constitution was written, could ever possibly be used today.”
“Yup, let's buy aunt May a Bushmaster semi-automatic weapon to protect herself because she lives alone. Merry Christmas American style.”
SkyeSolly on Dec 1, 2013 at 09:17:52
“Why not? It's a good idea. Low recoil, has plenty of ammunition on board so she doesn't have to worry about reloading and it's ergonomic so it will be easy for her to aim. Add to that the modularity with things like lights to identify the threat and optical sights to make it easier to aim. It is a great option for women to defend the home with.”
CelticMajic on Nov 30, 2013 at 15:27:58
“Is your point to deny aunt May her ability to effectively defend herself... or do you have some other motive?”

“How sad the Liberals are lowering themselves to the same kind of smear campaigns they accuse the Cons of. Neither party seems to realize voters are turned off big time by these tactics and this will only be advantageous to the NDP..”

“One pamphlet does not make the liberals completely negative. On the whole, I think Trudeau is almost entirely positive.”
“Judging by Israel's reaction to the latest negotiations they don't want dialogue and can't be trusted either. By the way, why does Israel have a right to nuclear weapons but not the other side? Just like Iran, Israel signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty except Israel never allowed inspectors for verification. Speaking of trust.”
