Since the hundreds of thousands of gallons of "Corexit" that BP and the EPA poured on the oil slick sunk the VAST majority of the oil that spewed into the Gulf, the REAL damage is at the bottom of the sea bed. Likely, several inches of partially-broken down crude and chemical slurry, suffocating life in the entire Gulf.
We havent seen any photos of that, and likely wont. The gulf is transformed, more by the Corexit (dispersant) than the crude itself. The majority of the problem is simply hidden from the public on the sea floor.”
“Conflating marijuana with crack cocaine belies a serious level of foolishness.”

“Right, thats why all the experts say one always leads to more powerfull drugs, Foolishness would be thinking that Marijuana use does'nt lead to hard drugs. and the fact that 40,000 have died in drug violence in Mexico is the direct result of you sniffling drug users”
You are irrationally angry at teachers and unions.”

“They have NOT both been fired - the teacher was allowed to resign. That way she can continue to abuse children in another teaching position - another union victory, and I agree, another failure of the school administration.
Get a clue!!”
jel3800 on Apr 25, 2012 at 21:56:56
“Why did you not give me a clue yesterday as you were fully knowledgeable at that time?
Also you could have contacted the child's father as he had no clue either.”
“Also, show me some evidence to support your claim the union is 'protecting' her job.

“These actions by the disrespecting trash working in that classroom are not caused by overwork or underfunding. They are just low, ignorant, uncaring people that should not be trusted near children. The fact that the aide was dismissed immediately but the teacher merely re-assigned and allowed to continue “teaching” or at least standing in front of another class demonstrates the schools desire to be rid of this – not necessarily for all the right reasons but they want it gone.
If the union were not fighting them she would be gone.”
“I suspect your intent is more anti-Union and anti-teacher, than anything else, or your real problem would be with a lack of funding for more teachers and smaller class sizes. Not to mention concern with bloated administrative budgets that dwarf union salaries by double.”
“I'm not defending the teachers actions or words. They both need to be disciplined/fired for this. But when the school-system is so drastically under-funded and classes are over-filled, teachers reach a breaking point. Look beyond the teachers to look at the systemic issues.”

“SAY WHAT????... Not defending?...sounds more like making excuses!!! No one forced these two HORRIFIC "THINGS" into teaching, their choice! I fail to believe, breaking point
reached excuses ANY form of abuse. This was not a "losing it" moment. This was a (daily)? 6 1/2 hour heartless, inhumane & disturbingly abusive, professional torture tag team, two adults who specialized in viscously attacking & finding perverse pleasure inflicting mental anguish onto 10 y/o special needs children. When studying to become a teacher, isn't MUST LIKE CHILDREN a requirement for the job? Another scary thought...do they have children of their own?
I am so sorry for the pain your son endured. My heart goes out to you both. You most definitely need to file charges against these monsters.. accountability!!! I too would skip the apology, what's the point of saying sorry when your not. Maybe restitution, they may write your son a weekly check and mail it to him say for the next 20 years....just so they will be unable to put this behind them, a constant reminder of their heinous actions. These two should not be working in contact with any living creature, be it human or otherwise...EVER!!!!!”

“I agree that schools are underfunded and classes are way too big but this is a special class for children with autism. They are deliberately small classes with an assistant as well as a teacher. Class size had nothing to do with these witches mentally torturing this poor boy. I'm with you on the funding point but this is a separate issue that is so disturbing its hard to comprehend. The words don't seem like much but they hit him where it hurt and those teachers know the disorder and were fully aware of the weight of their words.”
KadejaLatefah on Apr 24, 2012 at 20:41:52
“but you are. we all have bad days at work. there are 2 adults in this classroom -which seems to be appropriate. unfortunatley child abusers work with children....instead of stop light cameras let's put cameras in classrooms and on school buses. this may shed light on the bully issue.”
Hlynn on Apr 24, 2012 at 20:40:42
“It's true that special ed is severely underfunded and sometimes they have to hire anyone who is willing to do the job, no matter what the person is like, but there is no reason or excuse for talking to any student with such callousness.”
jel3800 on Apr 24, 2012 at 20:18:01
“yes--look all the way to the union that is protecting her job”
"An organism's sex is defined by the gametes it produces: males produce male gametes (spermatozoa, or sperm) while females produce female gametes (ova, or egg cells); individual organisms which produce both male and female gametes are termed hermaphroditic"”
KaraC on Apr 21, 2012 at 18:12:56
“So your definition of being a man is based on reproductive organs?”
“Characterizing anyone with a differing view as 'hostile' or 'phobic' is a juvenile tactic.
My contention is with the misuse of simple biological terminology, which you keep ignoring in favor of insulting me.”
KaraC on Apr 21, 2012 at 18:15:10
“I have not insulted you. I merely observed that you spend a lot of time on transgender threads, and appear to take a hostile position. You also conbstantly fail to read what I actually wrote. I have never said that surgery changes one's sex. Please quote my mistake in biological terminology.”
“Your characterization of the opinion of anyoe who disagrees with you is flawed.
I, for one, do not consider it 'sick'. But I do object to the inaccurate use of biological terminology. If you are born a man, you are a man. Surgery and pills do not change that. One's identification with the masculine or feminine does not determine their sex. Their biology does.
So, instad of just assuming everyone who's opinion differs from yours all are in lockstep moral objection, why not actually pay attention to the diversity of arguments?”
My op on Apr 21, 2012 at 17:29:31
“You seem so inflamed by this situation that you cannot think clearly. I never stated I opposed disagreement, only surprise that those who find it "sick" would read and comment on the story. Ok, you opt for "biology" over law; so be it. I allow others to define themselves as they see fit, especially when they go to the length of reassignment surgery. The law agrees. We all have our personal struggles, I am grateful I am not Thomas, and for that graditude, I do not judge.”
“Right. Anyone who has differing views should not comment. lol”
KaraC on Apr 21, 2012 at 14:50:21
“It is odd that you leap into every thread on gender issues, and take a hostile stance, and refuse to listen to those who actually have first-hand experience. Methinks thou dost protest too much. Kind of like homophobes who generally are covering for their own feelings that they haven't come to terms with.”

“I just do not understand being so interested in reading somehting one finds so "sick."”
