“You realize most Canadian-made movies aren't released theatrically, right? There's the odd one that does well in terms of critics choices or reviews but there's a lot that never see the light of day, even on Canadian networks. Netflix isn't obligated to buy it because it's Canadian, they have standards as well as the right to pass on things which just aren't geared for their network. Why buy something just because it's Canadian when you can use that money towards films or shows that will attract people to Netflix instead?”

““We pay into production funds and we pay taxes and many of these 'over-the-top' providers aren’t paying taxes and they certainly aren’t paying into production funds,” said David Purdy, Rogers vice-president of content.
When's the last time you saw a Rogers-produced show that wasn't a morning program, local cable show or filler for the afternoon?
Rogers, Bell, Shaw and other broadcasters don't voluntarily pay into production funds, they're forced to do it by the government. If it was up to them, they wouldn't pay a dime for production costs for a Canadian show... not when the U.S. ones can be bought for a lot cheaper.
CanCon is extremely important now and it needs to be reviewed in every minute detail. If it's abolished or loosened, goodbye Canadian content for good, the broadcasters won't show it and the producers won't buy it.”

“Just another reason to cut the cable and just do something more useful with your time... like reading, spending time with your friends/family, watching Netflix etc.
The NHL lost me a while ago because of their insistence to not crack down on the violence in the game (head shots, fighting etc.) and Rogers lost me a long time ago because, well, they're cheats, liars and money-gouging creeps.

“"I'm loving this" - Rob Ford
You only have to watch a couple of minutes of this interview (or any interview really with Ford) to realize he's a pathological liar. He really, truly believes his own version of events... the way he sees them. He says his brother was "surrounded" by 5-6 guys in the council chambers (when he ran over Pam McConnell) when, in fact, Doug Ford was shouting at spectators who were seated approx 4-6 feet away from him off the floor.
If Rob Ford is "loving this", why then is he pushing people, threatening to kill people, threatening lawsuits, claiming to be "Kuwait" to Iraq's invasion etc?
If this is love, I'd really hate to see what miserable is in Rob Ford's world.”

“You'll never realize how much you free your mind after cutting the cord. No more commercials, no more senseless and utterly repulsive news reports, mindless droning of what celebrity wore what and, best of all, no more "reality" TV.”

“Bell & Rogers both invest next to nothing for Canadian content or to promote it even. For both, Canadian content is covered by the news and things like local programming, it's not actually solving the content issue in terms of developing shows that aren't news/sports/entertainment. Bell and Rogers have absolutely no interest in developing Canadian series or shows, that's the CBC's job apparently because the taxpayers pay for it. Bell and Rogers think it's OK to buy American content instead and just go with that. Sad really... the two biggest cable companies in Canada can't/don't to develop or promote Canadian-made shows.”
“And the last time I checked, there wasn't a demand in Africa for lion when there's so many other animals (that aren't almost on the endangered species list) they could use for me. A gazelle perhaps? Water buffalo? they also have cows and chickens there too, fish as well. I don't buy it one bit they used the lion for meat, it's such a cop-out to justify shooting something. Why don't they mass-bred lions for meat then if it's to be used to feed people?”
“Wasn't it revealed that she was worth a lot of $$$, as high as $30 million at one point? How in the heck can she be broke?
Doesn't sound like she has to do it either... sounds like she wants to do it. If she wanted to make $$$, she could stay fully clothed and just show up at trade shows and conventions, maybe start her own line of products as well.”

“I'm wondering what the show will consist of?
- Rob Ford throwing a few verbal jabs at people, then a few mock physical ones during a rant & rave when he gets on a roll?
- Speaking of rolls, maybe he sits down with a bucket of KFC and just talks for an hour or so about how good the chicken is or how much he ate one time when he went out on all-night bender.
- Maybe he gives advice on how to score drugs, lie your way out of anything and then profess deep sorrow for being caught.
- Doug and Rob do a little sumo wrestling after consuming some pints (on air)
- Crank calling people who oppose the brothers in office
- Discussing the merits and pros/cons of all the diets both brothers have tried
- Sex tips from Rob!
- Debating which is the best gangster movie of all time and how each brother was influenced by it
- Guest stars like Alessandro Lisi, the Ford's favourite crack dealers and other surprise appearances from the underbelly of Toronto's seedy scene
- How to get drunk quicker and cheaper without sacrificing your integrity”
