“Not an illegal account - Every party has one - knowledge is the best way to understand how party policies evolve, but few people dare to extract the truth for fear of it, and criticize those who do.
The term secret fund and/or slush fund is terminology for wont of a better word and is common knowledge within EVERY party.
Doesn't matter who issued the cheque - It was not a part of Canadian taxpayers' capital.
That should be the bottom line. A non-event issue.”

“Except for the fact that the CPC is a legally defined company, and that Duffy was a Senator, and such dealings are illegal.”

“it is a secret fund, known only to a small handful of the most inner circle. Every other party, including the conservative governments of the past, always has a party fund to cover expenses that should not be paid by the taxpayers. The expenses covered by these funds where not secreted away BECAUSE the evidence was in the transparency.
This fund, the 90K to Duffy, and the attempt to buy a political out come all indicate criminal intent. The only question is whether the entire party can be sentenced or whether jail will be a privilege reserved for Wright alone. I suspect that paper shredders, favours from bankers, and praying are all in panic mode fervor right now.
A real investigation needs to take place. If only we could trust the RCMP and CSIS to get to the truth.”

“No, we didn't - put the proof on the table please.
Robbery of the EI is what did it.”

“EI fund is in deficit. Meanwhile the deficit is billions larger. Corporate tax cuts left right and centre and spend spend spend.... The mental equivalence failure here is utterly stupefying. Because someone did a wrong thing means that Harpergeddon can keep doing wrong things without any consequence?? And ask for data when you don't provide your own or can't use Google for yourself. Too difficult I guess. I be trolled haha”

“Perhaps they should stop exporting the cheques you keep accepting with no problems eh?”

“There. You put your finger on why Alberta has such a bad image with the rest of Canada. Albertans think they bankroll the country, and they think that this entitles them to our fealty and for them to tell us how to live. Alberta doesn't send my province cheques, except maybe to the SaskParty in the form of campaign contributions from Calgary executives. (They certainly like our province to be run their way.) It's more like we send you our wealth. Your province's public image problems are richly deserved, based on the oft-repeated arrogance you exemplify. You really need to get over yourselves.”
Dec 21, 2012 at 08:25:42
“Because they are dishing it out to most of the other provinces.
If they kept it to themselves, their heritage fund would be overwhelming.
Pretty straight forward to me.
That's the problem here, the rest of the provinces don't have a clue for the most part.”
Dec 1, 2012 at 08:10:48
“For those of you that may remember, the dynamic duo of Layton/Chow ripped off the provincial government for eons with their scams and living in community housing for years - I wouldn't be too concerned as to Olivia running for the Mayoralty position. She may run, but she wont win.
It just plain ain't going to happen.
When will you folks get real in ON and come to some common sense?
Little wonder the province has become a "Have-Not" entity.
As with Quebec, the dominos are starting to topple and will gain momentum.
How long before it catches up to the once great province of Ontario?
I'm afraid it's already there, you just can't see it yet.

“Either you are ignorant of the actual situation with that co-op housing (no controversy at all - they were paying a fair price for housing where the entire point of it was to have people from different economic backgrounds), or you are willfully propagating this BS story which has been debunked time and time again. Oh, and the government had NOTHING to do with his co-op in the first place, so even if they WERE somehow getting some super-awesome deal, it wasn't at the expense of tax-payers.
Let's hope the tea-bagger mentality (afraid of truth and facts) doesn't infest too much of Toronto's electorate.”
LGC1953 on Dec 1, 2012 at 13:56:52
“Interesting rant about something you know nothing about - they were in Co-op housing, not government community housing - big difference, but don't let facts confuse you.”
SayBlade on Dec 1, 2012 at 09:22:07
“You and I both know it was a housing co-operative where they lived and paid market rent for and were welcomed as they diversified the economic mix (one of the purposes of co-ops) and their market rent helped to subsidise those with lower incomes.
So, do you have any point to all those words you wrote?”

“Your saying the CBC and CTV are not biggots?
Take a look at the Eugine Bin Lada skit as posted by the CBC - Your a liar.”
cheetah slims on Nov 15, 2012 at 07:51:44
“Oh I never said they weren't, I'm not a particularly big fan of CBC or CTV news. Its still run by mostly out of touch old white guys like much of the establishment here in Canada .... I don't understand how I lied there though?”
Nov 14, 2012 at 10:50:42
“Well CBC and CTV don't fit that bill either.”
Achilles Wrath on Nov 14, 2012 at 21:23:58
“The thing is, CBC gives airtime to ALL political viewpoints. For all the ranting about CBC being a "leftie-pinko-liberal-media-outlet", the HarperCON crew seem to forget that CBC gives regular face time to the likes of Tom Flanagan (one of Harper's mentors) and Rex Murphy, an ex-liberal candidate who has become more right-wing as he ages. Pamela Wallin used to work at the CBC and she is now a CONSERVATIVE senator. And while I realize that there is currently no NHL hockey, let's not forget that the CBC pays an exhorbitant salary to the loudest, most ignorant right-winger there is: DON CHERRY.”

“It would be interesting to see what the viewership numbers are for CBC Newsworld and CTV Newsnet. I am sure they are higher than Sun News. Is that due to mandatory carriage? That is debateable, but like I said, I am against mandatory coverage for all channels. ”
