“"For What It's Worth"

There's something happening here
But what it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware

I think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound?
Everybody look - what's going down?

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking' their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind

It's time we stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look - what's going down?

What a field day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly saying, "hooray for our side"

It's time we stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look - what's going down?

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step out of line, the men come and take you away

We better stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look - what's going down?”

I really can't say much else your comment was deleted. but creationism is not science it's bunk. Creation can't be proven while earth's long history can via scientific theory. it's not even worth debating.”

Back to the old argument - prove you exist. We're inside the equation, and are thusly incapable of attaining an impartial perspective. I'm not saying that I approve of religion, but simply stating that the definition of science encompasses it as well.”

Are schedule l drugs while cannabis
Is a schedule II drug not the same punishment not seen as a dangerous drug by the law or any sensible person. Trudeau says he's not a drinker he's probably a glass of wine type. your hyperbole is ridiculous.”

“It would be nice to create a news debating type site with few external restrictions. Eliminate rabble by making it invitation only. Start with say 10 level headed people with diverse views and let them each invite one person per week. Let each invited person invite one person per week. Make the top of each chain responsible for keeping his people in line and the ability punt or timeout people that are way over the top. If properly organized and capitalized it could poach most people with anything to say on the various news sites in a year.”

“Say What? Do you think the atheist movement just started it's been around as long a Christianity and Islam and Hinduism and devil worshipping lol.
Of course there are the cowards who take the agnostic sitting on the fence p.o.v.

It's like this either you believe in a deity or many gods (Hindus or Sikhs) and a creator or you don't. God is a nonstarter in my view. All atheists feel the same way there are no sects trying to shout each other down or worse yet kill the other off because their prophet is Jesus and the other is Mohammed. From what I understand (not believe) both are descendants of Adam and have the same God and heaven. What's the fuss all about.”

AntithiChrist on Nov 11, 2013 at 13:06:47

“Conjecture only. Although I'd like to see evidence of an historical atheistic "movement" that exists beyond the internet and our current crop of non-faith-based charity organizations and church/state separation watchdogs. There've always been "atheists" (I'm guessing), but movements?
My earlier, perhaps-too-thickly-veiled point, let's call it subtext, is the question: are humans innately in-group/out-group creatures, and if so, in the absence of the additional divisive element of faith-based "religion," will we simply find other small, albeit "non-religious" distinctions with which to separate ourselves into exclusive groups? I personally think, with a healthy humanistic approach to non-theism, if this movement were to thrive, this world would improve in some important ways. Non-theistic movements have gone other ways, as history shows us, and religionists love pointing out. My biggest concern in an organized atheistic movement, is the danger of swapping the old dinosaur religions for new personality cults, or on a larger scale, adoration of some other destructive ideology, ala Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. ”
