“Did anyone talk to helicopter and airline pilots?
Do you have an idea how many hours of flying you need to become airline pilot, not to mention captain?
Just for a basic commercial license you need at least 200 hours and that is not multi license and you'll need thousands of hours, probably earned far north, before airline companies will consider you as a pilot on regional turbo props (not jets).
In short, you'll spend years and $ before you can get to that $70/hour wage. Is it worth? I don't know, but it's not easy and it's not for everyone (the same probably applies for neuro surgeon too)”

“People take those jobs out of love of airplanes and flying.
It's like race car driving. Nobody does that just for the money. You have to LOVE speed, or you won't make it.
Or the arts. There's a lot of dedication and lean years, but people do it because they love it and have a talent.”

“True, however what do you expect: the government to save you from bad businesses decision (selecting education path)? We are all now in globalized economy in which (unless some politicians start protectionism) we are to compete with low wages across the globe for anything from cleaning lady to university professor positions.”

“Buying a house that is 5 to 6 times your pre-tax income is VERY bad debt.
Getting a student loan to study liberal arts is also a bad debt.
Education is not for the sake of education (especially if you go on welfare afterwards) is not a good business plan. Make that a hobby and get education that can provide you with the decent living first.”
“There are no Radical Muslims. There are only Muslims who live as their holy book preaches and the others who are usually minority in a country they currently live, so they cannot express their religious freedom there.”
“Quite a bit different: those who believe in a holy books (predominantly Muslims, as Islam does not recognize state or country) are ideologically conditioned to do whatever interpretation of their book tells them to do (please read Koran, along Torah and Bible). In Islam , if you are not Muslim, they can kill you without remorse, in Christianity, we are all sinners, so killing a baby won't do you much harm anyway.
Petty criminals do things for more earthly reasons, like profit or just to hurt someone.”

“You make it sound as though Muslims are inherently criminal. I hold people accountable, not their religions and making the distinction of whose religion is more violent is neither here nor there. You commit a crime, you pay for it. End of story.
Also, I don't really need a lesson on Islam. My dad was/is a Saturday Islamic school teacher.”

“to muslims koran is above anything else. the guy is just living out his faith. why are the liberals so shocked about it?”

“Why shouldn't we outsource our federal politicians? They are already so far from our reality that they can be residing in China or India as far as I care.
We are going to save some money (even if not, there is no difference) and at least we can get more money from renting Parliament building as a fancy hotel.”

“With national average price for a home at $356,687 and, according to Stats Canada, average total income for a family of $91,000 (where NO EARNERS still bring in $45,000!!!) , this is still 4 times your average pre-tax income. which should be still OK if you are still naive and think that numbers don't lie.
I believe that in the real world (outside statistics) to buy a $350,000 house with ~$60,000 after tax income is hard.
Income grew ~5% from 2006. How much house prices went up in the last 5 years?”

“Of course it is stupid (and bigoted) to limit the scope of freedom of expression, but please don't cry me a river over Islam: how many people died after nude photos were published.
Please don't compare victimless crime to media/politicians' cry for attention.”
“Why people are trying to take the blame from Islam and put it on whoever made this movie (anyone actually saw it?).
Making fun of Mohammad (or what ever) and "insulting" it/him/her is a victimless crime as this person is dead for more than a thousand years.
Insulting "god" is impossible, either because it doesn't exist or if it does, shy should it care.”

“"Making fun of Mohammad (or what ever) and "insulting" it/him/her is a victimless crime as this person is dead for more than a thousand years"- Yes, it is not a crime, and NO the amount of time he has been deceased does not discard tasteless and hateful comments from being insulting (didn't know people's memory and respect for them depreciates in value as the years pass!)
"Insulting "god" is impossible, either because it doesn't exist or if it does, shy should it care"- what doesn't exist? God? If you are more at ease living your life by believing this, more power to you. God Bless.”

“You are maybe unaware (ignorant) that the cartoon incident was staged. Aren't you also ignorant in trying to compare making a film that (maybe, OK definitely if I believe one or two people who saw it) mocks the founder of a religion that presents itself as tolerant and good, to murderous frenzy of religious fanatics.
Why would someone try to justify killings in the name of religion, no matter what caused that (and in this case, it was First amendment)”

“The existence of ignorance is not predicated on its severity. It's either there or it isn't.
For instance, it would be ignorant of anyone with more than a fifth grade level of reading comprehension to think the author of this article was justifying the deaths of the US diplomats in any way shape or form.”
