“Your point is just an opinion with no basis on facts. The Sun News Network will go out of business because they're losing money. Levant can spew his hate and misinformation all he wants, those that want to listen can, stifling of opinions is only in your head.”

“Agreed. With the tax cut for corporations last election, the Conservatives expected that jobs would be created. Of course it's been slow, Corporations instead are hoarding the cash because of lower demand. There's lower demand because of lower and stagnant wages and unemployment. You're quite right when you say it's a vicious cycle. The bottom and middle class are squeezed so that the top can benefit, trickle down economics is not going to work when there's nothing left at the lower end.”
So the families that were affected are to be written off? Food safety, clinical trials, tourism (dollars and cancelled trips), 800k federal workers furloughed, National security and intelligence all were shutdown and it affected people and those people definitely felt it and will not forgot what just happened.”
“You point out that their low skill and lack of an education cannot get them anything but minimum wage. What other employment, more minimum wage work so they can continue to collect SNAP benefits? So two jobs? Even then they may qualify for government assistance.
In the end these low wage employees will continue to receive government assistance because they earn less. ”

“They earn what they are worth in the job market.”
“indeed, but these low wages are costing tax payer billions in social cost. that is the point of the article.”

“These low wage fast food jobs were never meant the main source of employment. They pay over minimum wage. It isnt the businesses responsibility to make sure the employee has everything they need. That is the responsibility of the employee. If McDonalds doesn't pay enough its time to find other employment. even if that means relocating to another part of the country.”
“Based on what... That's a good question. So do you contend they don't work hard?
Having skills or an education doesn't equate to working hard. There are numerous jobs that require little to no skill or education, labourer, garbage men, waiting tables, etc. people work hard in all facets of life and their careers. Does an investment banker sitting at a screen watching the ticker move and placing stock orders work hard? Your narrow view of working hard disqualifies a lot of jobs and careers.”

“"Having skills or an education doesn't equate to working hard."
No it equates to higher pay and position.”

“It's public fact, it's open as you say. Why not write an op-ed, robocalls? Let's robocall everyone in Toronto for the increase in taxes for the Scarborough subway that will cost Toronto 1 billion dollars.”

“Go ahead - I see nothing inappropriate in that either.”
“1) the clean CR contains the same sequester cuts as 2012
2) Where did he say this?
3) In 2003 the debt was 6.7 trillion. The Bush presidency was 2001 to 2009, guess where the additional 9 trillion came from. Factor in the recession and the lost of tax revenue because of high unemployment.
You talk of logic but clearly it's missing from your post.”

“Absolutely, I switched to Teksavvy over a month in advance and when it was time for my Rogers to end there were no issues, a week later and I was with out internet for over a month because a Rogers tech had disconnected our internet when we switch. Weeks of waiting and back and forth, a Rogers tech finally came and as expected a tech did disconnect our internet from the main box. I would rather wait it out and use my cellular internet than go back to Rogers.”
“" My cousins husbands premium went from 97 to 227 starting Jan 1. These stories are happening all over the coubtry but it appears that the media cant find these people maybe they are with Obama's classmates."
So your cousins husbands premium went up before ACA.
Did you know that the individual mandate was a recommendation by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. In fact, many groups on both sides had input for ACA, the law can get adjusted after, ACA is not the end of the world. Defaulting on the debt is.”

"The latest data from Factset show that non-financial companies in the S&P 500 amassed $30.1 billion more in cash and short-term investments in the first quarter of 2013. That’s 2.4% more cash than companies stockpiled last quarter, and pushes their total cash and short-term investment reserves to $1.29 trillion:"”
