“You're this irate over some twitter reactions? How does this even compare to what happened after game 7? I get that the riot references/jokes will be an easy response to anything related to the Canucks, but surely you realize there were many more fans who didn't riot, and those who did riot primarily weren't fans? Why does this have to be pointed out time and time again? Oh, right, it's not what the Canucks-haters want to hear so they put their fingers in their ears and say "LA LA LA I can't hear you!!"”

“I'm a Canucks fan and I thought it was pretty funny. Don't get what the big deal is?? I mean, I know it's fashionable to hate on the Canucks, but mostly I see a lot of whining about Canuck's fans 'whining' - it's a joke, who cares if some people got upset, whatever!!”

“I can't believe the amount of time the religious Right spends judging other people's level of faith or their relationship with God. Did someone forget to tell them that is between a person and their God? Who are they to make these judgements? It boggles the mind that folks could actually elect someone like this to run one of the most powerful countries in the world.”

Franklin Graham Calls Obama's Religious Beliefs Into Question

Commented Feb 22, 2012 at 11:04:59 in Politics

“Speaking as an outsider looking in (don't live in the US) I have a question: do the US people really care that much whether their President is a "true Christian"?? It just seems baffling to me that so much importance is placed on religion during elections there, when there are things like jobs, health care, etc that have an impact on all of the citizens. I truly do not get it.”

“They like people who are willing to TALK about being a Christian. What these people do in office seems to have little connection to their talk....and too many people don't question their actions. It is pretty sad.

I am voting to put the person most capable of solving our economic problems, of encouraging out people through diffficult times, of being commander in chief, and of working with the rest of the world.

My first requirement is that they UNDERSTAND the issues they face--meaning they have come acquaintance with economics, and with how the world works. While people here are screaming about President Obama's mythological "apology tour", what I'm getting from the overseas press is that for the first time this century, we are seen to have a competent President who sees the possibilities in nations working together to solve problems. The only international cooperation Bush wanted was the "coalition of the willing" to go to war. The rest of the time, he was in bed by 9 pm--even when traveling overseas. Some Representative!

“"merely lying is enough of an error to put one outside of "true Christianity" - well then there are a LOT of so-called Christians who are believing, quite wrongly, that they are on the "right" side of things, as I have seen a lot worse than "lying" from a lot of people who would have you believe they are doing God's work.”

“This is exactly what I was talking about. But also, the idea that "my religion is true and right. Your religion is bad and wrong" just leads to hatred and division, fear and mistrust. There are as many wrong things done in the name of Christianity as there are in the name of other religions. To think otherwise is naive, IMO.”

“It's these kinds of comments that perpetuate all of the hatred and bigotry brought about by religion. "True" Christians have been responsible for equally hideous and outrageous acts on innocent people all over the world, all in the name of God. Perhaps "true" Christians should look into Buddhism. At least they believe in peace.”

“I am sorry that you do not have much of an understanding of what the Bible says, for if you did you would know that Jesus said at John 8:44 and Matthew 7:22,23 that "merely lying is enough of an error to put one outside of "true Christianity" and on the job working for His Chief Enemy Satan the Devil. If you were knowledgeable of the Hebrew Scriptures you would know of the "Cut Off" from their people. Conduct "excommunicates" one from "true" Christianity just as people were removed from being one of God's people for various wrongful acts in the days of Old Jewry.”

“Sadly, this is the response from many in the US when their insulated world view is acknowledged. "We don't care." I am sure if you asked those thousands of people who were taken care of by ordinary Canadians after 9/11 if they "care" you would get a different response. I feel sorry for people like you, it must be difficult to be so angry at everyone all the time. I know you'll just say you "don't care" but keep in mind the US was lucky the rest of the world, and especially Canada, "cared" enough to help after 9/11.”
