Top-Secret Document Reveals NSA Spied On Porn Habits As Part Of Plan To Discredit 'Radicalizers'

Top-Secret Document Reveals NSA Spied On Porn Habits As Part Of Plan To Discredit 'Radicalizers'

“The honey-pot trap, threatening to expose homosexuality when it was not acceptable, and other sexual deviations have been used for decades by the KGB, MI-6, CIA and other spying agencies to blackmail and "turn" subjects, So the NSA, by using telecommunications technology to monitor the watching of porn by a bunch of Moslems with jihadist tendencies, is no different from what other spy agencies do. Given that some of these potential jihadists advocate women to be fully covered in burkas, threatening to expose their hypocrisy is an appropriate way to "turn' them, even though it would anger many self-righteous, naïve civil libertarians.”

“Since Fager has stated that he is ultimately responsible for what gets aired, then he is ultimately accountable. He should at least also take a leave of absence, but better still resign. While Logan has made a mistake here, I have some sympathy for her. She has paid her dues many times over by being brutally raped to death by the "Arab Spring" Egyptians in Tahrir Square.”

Sorry, I know that will anger some people, but we know now how far she will reach to get a story aired.”

“China's new unilateral Air defence zone declaration covers a large area, about 400 km from the mainland and is used by aircraft from many nations. It is all about its dispute with Japan re its claim to the Senkaku Islands. They are barren rocks which were ignored for decades but now with the potential for oil, the dispute has heated up considerably in the last few years. The US B-52s flight is an expression to the Chinese that the US does not recognize this Air Zone as belonging to the Chinese, but also serves as a reminder that the US is bound by an old mutual defense treaty with Japan. Japanese commercial civilian aircraft already has complied with notify the Chinese of using this airspace, but the South Korean airlines have ignored the Chinese declaration. The dispute over the Senkakus should be brought before and settled by the United nations. This unilateral air zone declaration is extremely dangerous and challenges to its legitimacy like the B52s can lead to war.”

ProgressiveOldMan on Nov 26, 2013 at 14:54:25

“Seems there is more than what is in the article. The United States and Japan planned and are beginning an exercise in the area. This includes an Aircraft Carrier (George Washington), and multiple supporting ships. The Washington and its air group are also supported by other aircraft operating from Japan and Guam (including the B-52's).

China knew about the exercise as it is standard procedure to notify countries in the area of operations. China knew there would be a carrier and its aircraft, yet made the choice to announce it now.

Just who is provoking whom?”

“A British Minister once said that (from an accountability viewpoint), he takes credit when his staff does well. Likewise he will suffer the consequences including resigning, based on their incompetence or major errors . A good example of accountability is the Perfumo affair, when British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan resigned after John Perfumo, his War Secretary, was
caught sleeping with Christine Keeler who was also sleeping with a Russian spy. In the US, politicians of both stripes often say they are accountable or use the famous phrase " The Buck stops here" , that they are sorry and more often than not, all is forgiven w/o suffering any consequences. Knowing how important this system is to the President, Sebelius should have appointed an experienced IT Manager to overall manager the development, someone familiar with systems development methodologies and integration, with a proven track record of delivering systems on time and within costs.. And someone who will not entertain requested massive changes, (even if the White House wants them), two weeks prior to rollout.. This did not happen. Sibelius is using "the buck stops here" subterfuge by sheltering Synder now. But that does not cut it. She should resign..”

“While there is some anger among European politicians, a lot of the rhetoric is tactical. First, no doubt to appease some of their angry electorates, but more important to obtain more concessions from the US in the ongoing free trade negotiations. As a former French Foreign Minister said this week-end: "Let's be honest, we eavesdrop too. Everyone is listening to everyone else. But we don't have the same means as the US, which makes us jealous." It is also common knowledge that government officials realize that their mobiles are under surveillance in certain countries like France, and in China, they are advised not to use their cells at all. If you are on official business in the While House, you have to hand over your cell phone because the assumption is that eavesdropping occurs, even there. .”

“I have used CGI years ago and they did a good job. But what is now necessary is to fix the system ASAP, and if it means taking out some of the recent changes made or functionality, so be it, i.e. the quickest way to shore In addition, rather than spinning stupidly to the public that the Administration is now getting gurus from Silicon valley ( absurd!) to help them and telling all the IT contractors that they now want their A teams working on the system ( the implication is that Sibelius knew they did not have their best staff on board for this project - again absurd) Obama should now :
-appoint someone in charge with a proven track record in with major systems development to manage this and who has the authority to say NO to White House staff interference and politicians alike. I am not sure this Jeffery Zients fits the bill, since he sounds like another friend or crony
- fire both Sibelius plus the senior bureaucrat responsible for this project . If he does this he may be viewed as being tough and decisive, even by some Repubs.”

“As a Project Director of Systems Development and having rescued failed systems once in another lifetime, I would venture to point out that the failing website and system is most likely caused by NOT having a strict systems development process/methodology in place or if there is one, not managing the same properly. Simply put, in developing systems like this, users and key stakeholders need to be identified. These will then specify their requirements to the systems designers so that a conceptual General Design and then a Detailed Design can be produced. The more time spent on this, the less likelihood there will be problems later. Normally, the users will then sign off, and the systems and application programmers can start programming. It has to be clearly communicated that any user requested changes during programming cannot be accommodated - the cost magnitude can increase by more than a hundredfold and the possibility of errors also increases. We now learn that the IT contractors were told to make changes as late as September and these were coming from White House staff. Since White House staffers and even Sibelius may not be familiar with the above concepts, there is a failure of communication and educating same from the beginning and not caving to additional major change requests at this late date by the Executive in Charge. Another problem of poor planning and management is not having a pilot, to minimize risk . Rather the roll-out is a big -bang high risk variety.”

AlonzoQuijana on Oct 23, 2013 at 16:18:12

“They used a nobody contractor -- CGI -- and appointed themselves the systems integrator, although they had almost no experience at it. If they had used Accenture or IBM for both integration and key parts of the site, the CEO could have had the stature to call up Sibelius or Jarret and told them to stop with the changes or face disaster. A come-to-Jesus moment. As it is, they had a weak, complaint contractor, from Canada no less. I have found the worst contractors / vendors are those that do everything you tell them to do with no push back.”

Debt Ceiling Crisis: World Finance Officials Focus On Global Risks

Commented Oct 13, 2013 at 10:51:48 in Business

“That is correct but more. I see sometimes posters here and elsewhere who arrogantly and ignorantly comment that the US should just renege on its debt payment and the rest of the world be damned, not even realizing that the world's financial system is interlinked and secondly, if you owe money, you are obliged to repay your debt. If the US defaults, its bond yields and interest rates will skyrocket a la Greece and its credit rating will drop drastically. As a result, since the US is a debtor nation, its ability to borrow more and sustain repayments will be drastically worsened. The US dollar will plummet and China's wish for the yuan to replace the dollar as the world currency will be realized which will further lower the dollar. In addition, since these debts are legal obligations, there will be countries holding the now useless US bonds who will refuse to pay for US exports and services received. US companies will have a much more difficult time obtaining credit and borrowings. All this will lead to a severe recession at best but more likely a depression.”

But in addition, specially carved ivory in full public display in high end shops, in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong cater to the demands of the nouveau riche Chinese who regards such items as status symbols.”

“To stop poaching, the demand has to be eliminated and that demand comes from China.. A poor African gets paid hundreds of dollars, more than he can make honestly in a year, to shoot and deliver the tusks to Chinese agents. The Chinese government have factories which carves ivory for sale and some of the ignorant nouveau riche Chinese prize specially carved ivory as a status symbol. There are special high-end shops in cities like Shanghai that sell specialized carved ivory, catering to the rich. So unless the Chinese can be shamed and denounced by the rest of the world on this practice , the outlook for the elephant is not hopeful.”

“Syria is wrong IF it is proven that it used chemical weapons. But that does not give the US, already heavily in debt to China, the right to act unilaterally again as the world policeman. Besides, such a strike furthers no Middle eastern geo-political objectives ( if there were any to begin with), other than to assuage the bruised ego of this president, who stupidly drew a red line in the sand. Assad, dictator he may be, is preferable to the rebels who are dominated by Al Qaeda supporters and jihadists, and who themselves have committed their share of atrocities. If Obama really wants to do something, he should galvanize the world to start peace talks between the two parties. After he did win a Nobel Prize for peace. Else he should add Dubya to his other middle name!”

“Only to a certain extent.  What technology has enabled is the creation of processes, products and feedbacks not cost feasible or fast enough previously.  Those who have looked at the Foxconn plants, the company that builds the Apple products in China, have remarked that a great amount of the processes are in fact manual. And one of the major issues with outsourcing of IT jobs ( either actual or via the H1B visa) is that it creates a disincentive for college students to major in IT. ”

“Manufacturing has the highest multiplier effect in terms of job creation. Most of the good paying manufacturing jobs have already been outsourced by corporations since the eighties. A few predicted then that in a few decades the only jobs available in America will be McJobs, but their voices were drowned out by a chorus of corporate spokesman, globalization advocates, supply-side economists, and politicians beholden to them, including presidents. And in the last decade or so, a lot of IT jobs, so essential to a vibrant economy of the future, have either been outsourced or filled via the H1B visa program. So that is what is left in general - McJobs, resulting in less taxes towards government coffers which is already badly in severe deficit mode. This has contributed to the shrinking middle class in America, while the middle class in China and India are growing. Add in a poor education system and one sees why America is in decline. Yet, the republicans blame the democrats and vice versa. And don't even blame the pols - just look at some of the comments here and one sees why there is no resolution.
