“The NDP are the greater sleaze than any other political party there is no doubt. In the first instance they have absolutely zero clue on how economics work in the real world. In the second instance the NDP is populated by a bunch of idealistic special interest groups whose interests are singular and could care less about anything else.

“Stephen Green you sound like George Bush when he said he "you either stand with us or you stand with the terrorists" as he invaded Iraq based on lies about WMD's and nuclear weapons where 150,000 innocent civilians were killed and millions more displaced. Or Vic Toews as he said "you're with us or you stand with the pornographers" as he tried to pass a bill to spy on Canadians. Just as they did, you give a false choice and present it as if it's a fact.”

If you do the research, you will find numerous human rights abuses against the Palestinian people. I could give you dozens of links that speak to the treachery of the Israeli government and IDF and the power of the Israeli government over American politicians. Is that what you support?”

“I have no faith in the current Bank of Canada leadership. I think the current policy of forcing the Canadian $ downward was the wrong approach as such should be on par with that of the US $. Secondly, the interest rates are such that ordinary citizens are simply not advancing on bank investments. Thirdly, the weakness of the C$ has increased the cost of living in a time of escalating costs and wage stagnation. All of these factors tell me that the BofC is on the wrong path.”
Charles the Great on Jul 17, 2014 at 22:00:57
“The BoC knows they will have to raise the rate sooner rather then later. The low dollar is not helping manufacturing since their costs have gone up by 10%. Also any US company wants their returns in USD and they will not open up a plant if this still happens, Warren Buffett cited the low dollar for closing down his plant in Ontario. Another inflation is way off forecast, they BoC thought it was going to happen sometime next year, well it happened faster than they predicted. It is clearer this clown is taking orders from Harper, since the job of the BoC is to control inflation by interest rates. Also oil will stay well above the $100 barrel range from what happening in the Ukraine with this airliner being shot down and the Middle East up in smoke. This guy has no idea what he is doing. Maybe copying an economic model like Germany would be a good idea. If the Liberals were still in power, they would had turned that $1.10 dollar into a surplus. They would had work with the high dollar. When Justin comes PM, he should fire this clown. I would love to have a $1.20-1.40 dollar to the USD. Who won't?”
Jun 20, 2014 at 23:27:29
“I am convinced that Statistics Canada and the Bank of Canada are in collusion to artificially reduce the inflation factor. There is absolutely no question that the cost of living, certainly in British Columbia has increased by a massive amount, likely in the 10 to 12 %. The reported cost of living inflation factor published by Statistics Canada is completely bogus to a point where such is criminal.
The way that Statistics Canada calculates the inflation rate is flawed beyond any comprehension.”
Charles the Great on Jun 21, 2014 at 02:23:33
“or the Bank of Canada is looking at the prices on Kijiji and wondering why they are not going up, with this government and given Harper has control over the Bank of Canada with this governor is most likely the reason why.”

“Along with a Liberal war plan in Afghanistan that was not funded. Equipping the Armed Forces was a monumental task taking billions. Not only that but the Harper government increased the provincial transfer payments.
We do not need more deficit budgeting or any tax increases. We need smaller government!”
corruptgov on Feb 23, 2014 at 00:20:45
“Of course, instead of "equipping" the armed forces, Stephen Harper's government actually cut funding to the forces and, worse still, cut funding to Veterans programs to help wounded and traumatized soldiers to return and recover in Canada.”

“The Ndp proposal to increase taxation is silly. Have you not noticed that corporations tend to leave if the tax rate is to high. That 22% quickly escalates when you add the Provincial Corporate taxes.
The NDP economic plan is a hoax and would cause massive unemployment.”

“Let them leave!”
corruptgov on Feb 23, 2014 at 00:12:23
“Where do you get your ideas from?
Canada is far more competitive for corporations in taxation policy the the USA, both federally and provincially. Take a look on KPMG's survey of corporate tax rates, and you'll see Canada compares favourably to most nations. Or, for the lazy, check out wikipedia.
Even if the Fed was to raise back to 22%, it would still be far less than the US federal rate of 35%.
As far as massive unemployment, we have had enough of that under the Cons. Perhaps a socially responsible government might be better overall for the middle and working classes.”
CCFer on Feb 22, 2014 at 17:32:34
“The 22% rate is significantly below the US federal rate of 35% - will companies flee to the US?
Was massive unemployment present in Canada in 2006 when the rate was 22%? There were also provincial taxes at that time - and state taxes in the US.
Scare tactics backfire when there is no evidence to back them up.
Most Canadians want a fairer tax system - and Tom Mulcair is responding a practical, sensible way to that demand.”

Stanley Bonk on Feb 17, 2014 at 03:59:07
“If that's what you call anti-American, then I want to be counted among them. Being a patriot isn't about waving a cheap dime store flag and chanting "USA" all the time. Real patriotism is caring enough about your country that you want to keep it clean of corruption and true to the principles set down in it's Constitution. Part of that is being vigilant against the government when it goes off track and deviates from the letter and the spirit of the Constitution.”
