“The coup in Kiev was orchestrated by the west. and its going to backfire badly.

Our self important PM has decided to once again to provoke the situation on behalf of his American handlers. The Russians are right in wondering why Canada would be so antagonistic, but then they realized that Harper is a bought and paid for lap dog posing as a world leader, and they laughed.”

“Don’t be ridiculous, this bill is a joke! your either uninformed about the bill or would like others to be uninformed.

There is a long list of serious irregularities within this pile of crap bill , that is again another instance of Conservatives copying policy invented by US republicans to suppress voters.

No vouching
New ID laws that require photo id corroborated with address.
Huge campaign financing loopholes
Partisan oversight during elections
Loss of proper investigative capabilities for elections Canada.

There is a Massive groundswell of hatred growing against this party. What kind of contempt for Canadians do Conservatives have when their party is under investigation for electoral fraud ( not to mention the cases where they were found guilty ) and yet is attempting to change the laws surrounding the abilities to properly investigate their actions?

its utterly despicable.”

Let's face it. This is about money. If they seriously wanted to stop it, they could target seal licence holders and pay them some serious money to retire the licences. the seal hunt may be a paycheck for a sealer, but it's a cash cow for animal rights groups.”

“70% of our economy relies on retail sales. As middle wages jobs are lost so are the customers who buy those goods. Without them, the economy collapses. What is especially brilliant is while a lot of manufacturing companies are beholden to the almighty shareholder, by shaving their labour force of decent paying jobs they are in fact contributing to their own demise.

Globalization is a fact, you either invest in an educated work force that can produce high quality goods while making a liveable salary like Germany, or you watch those jobs go elsewhere, and your economy slowly die.”

“well they did it with fat, the whole non fat revolution changed the food industry, and people are in fact eating less of it. Unfortunately they made it more palatable by adding sugars.

Why is sugar the only category without a recommended daily percent per serving?”

Woofers MB on Mar 5, 2014 at 21:36:30

“Very true. Blame it on Big Sugar (not the band).

If they cut the sugar and don't put the fat back in, people will have to grow accustomed to the change in taste. I'm curious to see how some food products will taste if that happens.

The government had to purchase 69 billion dollars worth of mortgages from the CMHC, plus lend them money.

If it wasn’t for the CMHC, Canadian Banks would have been in trouble.

The Facts are that major Canadian banks enjoy far greater backing from the government than US banks do. Both in a regulatory capacity and in insurance to creditors.”

“Your really going to try and tell us that “the capitalist bankers themselves” are what sheltered us from the 2008 collapse? Thats got to be one of the most ignorant things I’ve read on these boards in 5 years.

Bankers are allowed to do business within the confines of something called “the Bank Act”… hello anybody home?

Everybody knows one of the main, and most important reasons that Canadian banks never collapsed like so many banks around the world is:

Canadian bank regulators are, unlike in the US , not allowed to be lobbied by bankers themselves.”
