Two sitting Toronto city council members faced off against each other in Wednesday's Ontario by-election, and a former councilor is running in another riding. Each is representing a different party. While this may seem banal, it is highly problematic.

A somewhat-scathing recent blog post surrounding the selection of Adam Giambrone to be the NDP candidate in the upcoming by-election in Scarborough-Guildwood has garnered some attention on social media. Perhaps a counterpoint is in order.
As I often wait for my subway trains, I always worry about freak accidents that I am convinced will happen instantly. What will the next person do or act when the subway is pulling at the station? Can the New York incidents happen in Canada as well? Do I look "too ethnic" perhaps too much like a "muslim"? We should not let death to force us to act.
I believe in love. And I also believe in men having fire lit up under their butts after dalliances, suddenly panicking and making the gravest of life decisions to save the said butts.
