The 2017 federal budget pledges an incredible $50 million over two years to teach young Canadians to code. This is a huge boost to support Canadians in developing the skills and creativity needed to compete and lead in the global innovation race.
Our labour market is not evolving to help companies compete globally. Modernizing our labour market requires two things: a talent pool equipped with the appropriate skill sets, and an up-to-date approach on collecting and sharing labour market data.
November 4-8, 2013, is Media Literacy Week in Canada. A project of MediaSmarts and the Canadian Teachers' Federation, the week focuses on helping young people become more aware of the power and influence of media in their lives.
