The Internet is almost always part of the tragic narrative. It is killing print newspapers they scribe. Sad news is splashed across the headlines. The loss of the newspaper carrier who tosses your paper onto the front porch early in the morning does not equal the death of news and opinion. Even restructuring newsrooms does not necessarily mean less access to important information.

As a startup gains traction from initial prototype to credible sales, the founding team recognizes the critical need to bring onboard senior advisors and mentors to provide guidance as the startup enters the next phase of growth. While all startups require this guidance and mentorship, enterprise startups are the most in need.
Simply put, rather than reinventing the wheel, entrepreneurs need to find the wheel-maker, and leverage the wheel-maker's expertise and experience. There are four key practices to embed this into the enterprise. First, build a network before it's needed. I'm convinced that the single most important asset any entrepreneur can build is their Rolodex.
Within our team we spend a lot of time talking about the concept of the 'willing innovator'. At a time where practically every industry needs software, it helps us think about the people we want to partner with -- those who align with our culture and view of the world. To us, this isn't necessarily about having been innovative in the past.
