Apparently the illegal scanning of licence plates by Victoria police will continue until fixes are implemented. Unlike their counterparts in Saanich and Ottawa, Victoria police have no intention of switching off the cameras during privacy compliance upgrades.

The narrative seems to suggest that this insidious act has shaken a community which has rarely experiences such hatred. Perhaps short memories from those who are rarely on the receiving end of these not-so-isolated incidents need refreshing.

Roxanne Carr was arrested and charged with assaulting police, obstructing police and damaging property in 2008. Those charges were dropped in April.
