Perhaps the most common misconception is that young Canadians lack faith in democracy. Anyone who believes this simply hasn't looked at the evidence. Youth have just as much (or little) faith in our democratic process as their parents' generations, and it doesn't explain the difference in voter turnout.
John Duffy (L): As the Canadian Press reported, Ms. Horwath is "standing behind a candidate who is coming under fire from the other parties for comments he made about religion and Nazis." We don't know how much quality control went into the NDP's candidate selection process, but one imagines we're going to find out in the days ahead.
Health care, which pollsters insisted was the issue of greatest concern to voters in the federal election, was summarily dismissed by our political parties with a unanimous promise made up of two simple words: "more money." But throwing ever-larger amounts of taxpayer dollars at the problem without measuring value often simply results in more waste and duplication.
