City bureaucracies are a bit like junk drawers -- they need a good purging every once in a while.
In Vancouver, less than one in five eligible voters re-elected Gregor Robertson in 2011. In Victoria, less than one in six re-elected Dean Fortin. In Nanaimo, Kamloops, and Prince George, less than one in seven elected their mayors.
Taxpayers deserve more than the same-old, same-old from potential mayors and councillors. We want details and real ideas. And, in a world where "there is nothing new under the sun," one hopes that a few ideas that have popped up in cities across B.C. might take root everywhere.
