The main message in so-called "Muslim cleric" and street preacher al-Haashim Kamena Atangana's tirade against provocatively-dressed women is what it says about some Muslim men. Apparently, men are such lustful creatures that they can't control themselves if they spot a short skirt. He would favor a law requiring women to wear long robes that cover all parts of skin.

The 160-page book, A Gift for Muslim Couple, is rumoured to be sold out in an Islamic book store in Canada and seems more Monty Python than something that borrows from the Quran or sayings of Muhammad. In fact, it is based on dictums of Sharia law which is no laughing matter.

While the Vatican and Western leaders have condemned the attacks on Christians as heinous and cowardly, an unequivocal denunciation must also come from the Islamic world against Nigeria's Boko Haram and other radical Islamic groups terrorizing Christian communities in their midst.
