The summer months encourage you to be outdoors, exercise and eat fresh and healthy. But the heat slows us down; the abundance of entertaining is out of control and it's just so easy to overeat those luscious grilled meats, potato salads and ice cream. We also are out at events more and can get caught off guard by the offerings. People have been asking me about my "life-changing" trip to Kenya. Questions have ranged from easy ones such as "how was the weather?" to tough ones such as "how has it changed your perspective on life?" I've failed miserably at answering the latter question and two weeks later, I'm still struggling to describe the experience.
Punta Tumbo is home to over half a million Magellanic penguins. The path for us humans, although marked and restricted, goes straight through the penguin's breeding ground. This means you're surrounded by thousands of knee-high penguins waddling from their dens to the sea and then back again. Hugo warned us not to let them get too close though, as they were known for nipping nosey tourists.
