Say what you will about Montreal being the poor man’s Paris. The beauty of this French-speaking city is that its reasonable prices don’t just attract lovers, they attract young lovers.

For every middle-aged couple fighting over a map in Paris’ Marais district, there are two carefree 20-somethings canoodling in Montreal’s Parc Lafontaine using their iPhones as maps on their way back to the hostel.
