Today Show In Montreal (VIDEO)

THE CANADIAN PRESS -- MONTREAL - Every aspect of quirky Canadiana was on display for a U.S. television audience as the Today show broadcast from Montreal.

There were ketchup potato chips. The hosts, Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, swigged Molson's from red and blue Canada- and Quebec-themed beer helmets. They also sampled gourmet poutine.

And there was seemingly every conceivable type of maple syrup product consumed or placed on display.

Cirque du soleil juggled, the Barenaked Ladies sang, and the hosts took a horse-carriage ride through Old Montreal.

Gifford remarked during her carriage ride that Montreal looks like Paris. Kotb called the city beautiful.

The hosts also made a stop at the Queen Elizabeth hotel and posed for pictures where John Lennon and Yoko Ono staged their famous bed-in and recorded Give Peace a Chance.
