THE CANADIAN PRESS - LA TUQUE, Que. - An eight-year-old boy died and four other people, including a young girl, were injured after a small plane crashed into a river in central Quebec on Monday.
Police said the pilot and all four passengers, who were tourists flying over Quebec, were transported to hospital.
The boy was later pronounced dead.
Three people, including the pilot, sustained only light injuries.
A 10-year-old girl sustained multiple trauma and had to be taken to a separate hospital better able to treat her injuries.
The Cessna plane crashed into the Bostonnais River, located in the northern part of the Mauricie region, about 130 kilometres northwest of Quebec City.
