Rangers home game against Blue Jays starts at 40.56 C degrees, matching record

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas Rangers have started a game in record heat for the second time this month.

The temperature was 40.56 Celsius degrees at Rangers Ballpark for the first pitch Sunday against Toronto. The game started just after 7 p.m. local time.

That matched the previous high temperature at Rangers Ballpark, which opened in 1994. It was also 40.56 C degrees when the Rangers played Oakland on July 8.
