Dead heat for women's 100 freestyle gold at swimming world championships

SHANGHAI - The world swimming championships has had its second dead heat for a gold medal, with Jeanette Ottesen and Aliaksandra Herasimenia both finishing in a time of 53.45 seconds in the women's 100-meter freestyle.

Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands took the bronze in a time of 53.66.

In the men's 100 backstroke Tuesday, Camille Lacourt and Jeremy Stravius of France also finished in a dead heat for gold
