Alouettes quarterback Calvillo sets CFL all-time completions record

TORONTO - Anthony Calvillo has broken another of Damon Allen's all-time CFL passing records.

The Montreal quarterback eclipsed Allen's all-time completions record of 5,158 with an 18-yard yard strike to Brandon London late in the first quarter of the Alouettes game Thursday night against the Toronto Argonauts.

Play continued after the record-setting completion although it was acknowledged on the Rogers Centre's Jumbotron.

Calvillo entered the contest needing just nine completions to surpass Allen's mark, which he set over 23 CFL seasons.

Calvillo, 38, is in his 18th CFL campaign.

Calvillo wasted little time breaking the record, completing nine of his first 10 passes, including a 42-yard strike to Brian Bratton on the game's first offensive play.

Earlier this season Calvillo broke Allen's all-time record of 394 career TD passes.
